I got a warranty through MAP (Motorist Assistance Plan) for my harley truck when I bought it.

It was $1400 for the 4 year / 42k mile platinum level and covers everything with a $100 deductible per related incident.

About 4 months after I got the truck, it spat a spark plug out from an incorrectly installed heli-coil the p/o of the truck had done, whoever installed it, put the helicoil in upside down so it never locked into place [Roll Eyes]

when the shop (a mustang performance shop in socal) I took the truck to took it apart, they found the teflon coating on the supercharger flaking off and covering the intercooler a bit.

warranty paid for new heads, supercharger rebuild, and a $30ish rental car for 1 day per 8 hours of labor required.

The repair ended up around $3600, as it included a 9 hour R&R of the engine to replace the heads.

So that's how my truck got MMR stage 1 heads, and a stiegemier stage 4 ported blower/plenum/throttle body [Smile]

If it's a car you plan on keeping perfect, I'd recommend it. Just keep receipts for any maintenance you do, and make sure to stick by the car makers recommendations in the owners manual for service intervals of -everything- covered by the warranty...

I've had some experience with them and another company. It seems like they respond to dealerships/auto shops more than if you personally called them yourself. If you do a warranty claim make sure you bring it to a reputable shop so they can hound them to bring an adjuster over to cut you a check asap. Other than that I didn't have any problems.

Dealt with many, they usually want the motor or trans torn down so they can take pics of what you already told them was wrong. Once verified they send a junkyard part and pay half what it should pay to install it and expect you to cover it with the same warranty as a Ford reman part. I recommend only purchasing a factory extended warranty to anyone
