I think i joined around 04 when i bought my first mustang (2000 GT) i went to a few of the foster freeze meets, and went on a few cruises, met some cool people, i have bought a few parts here. Site has changed allot, used to be a cool place to talk and show off your rides, now you have to be afraid of getting your car stolen and every other post turns into a battle over who can use the CAPS LOCK more in posting...

Same here! I met a really cool member there who hooked it up with a free working T5 that I used for my old coupes auto>manual swap. Thing has taken so much abuse and is still living strong in a mclaren mustang. Whoever that guy was, thanks! That was back in 05.

I was member 3xxx back when I had my 03 GT, I think my user was 03 rusty gt, but I lost access to it in 05 when there was an issue on the board. Back then you could actually come and read threads, now its filled with HORRIBLE grammar, no punctuation, and thug/vato speak...along with weekly stolen car alerts. At least the Track events sections is still mostly readable

I still log in from time to time - sold the '89 almost 3 years ago. This site has taken a turn for the worse lately from what I can tell. Not enough true enthusiasts anymore it seems....learned A LOT in the 98cobra.com days. Met some good people and enjoyed the sport...I don't really see much of that anymore.

Honestly, I remember the first time I saw John's coupe at the track and spoke with him. My opinion of what a bad ass car is went up 5 notches that day.

this could be true, but also when the site started alot of members would meet up with each other "so u actually have a face to go behind the screenname" so i think there was a lot more courtesy. ive met alot of members on here, either for a meet,cruise,show,racing,buying/selling parts ect.
the newer members have a different mentality for the most part now adays. 98cobra.com/cafords.com started almost 12 or so years ago and even back then you had/have alot of good early members and more than a few bad early members also.

I see what you are saying. But I went two of these meets/cruises when I first joined on here and there was cars racing during the cruise. If there was a cruise with racing all the og members would be ... ever since I have been on this website people have been getting banned and cars have been stolen on a weekly basis. Just my .02...

i still remember when east bay racing was around too, then all of a sudden one day it turned into a completely different site. it was kinda like a rap site not a car site or something.
