Fuck today Fuck egpd!!!! Just got my car impounded. "No ebrake no horn no rear view mirror and they said my reg is not up such I paid this morning online.... also don't have a visible vin # so he wants me to go to cup and get one... also after and hour and 9 cops later he tells me no what I can't ever drive this car on the street.... he thinks its to extreme and will always pull me over and try his hardest to make me smog my car.... yes its a 67!! just got back from dmv and they said i have reg and i got a print out. now pd public services are closed.. i wasnt driving fast car wasnt loud.but i drove in front of a pd station not thinking anything of it becuase all my stuff was legit. as soon as i pass he pulls out and pulls me over in FRONT of the station. so alll the cops come out. they looked through a huge book for 20 mins trying to find stuff. he said he is gonna do everything he can to keep it off the street. also threatened to have it impounded again and have it "stripped to make sure all the numbers match on trans and motor"..... this isnt a honda ya fuck!!!! still the entire hour i was with them i was not out of line rude and was calm. im 25 but im not a piece of shit punk kid. i have a kid of my own and dont drive dumb. im filing a complaint tomorrow!

I got pulled over by EGPD on the bike for not having a red lens in the rear when I had two of them.

Do the complaint and let's have a picket for this dumb fuck cop for harassment and know that these small broke ass cities are pushing for more tickets for more revenue even the bigger cities are following this practice. It's odd that cops are hired to protect and serve law abiding citizens but some bad apples decide they are going to take what they feel is right and push there own agenda on others and harass like he said he was going to do . I now without them knowing every and each time run my video recorder when I encounter cops to record the dumb comments that some officers say but not all cops are bad just a few bad apples who give the rest a bad name. But thats why most people whom had dealing with the police do not like them, because of this.

I say sue the city for impound fees. They have no reason to impound your car. You have no smog regs on that car. They got you on the mirror but that's just a fix it ticket. File a harassment complaint too. That's BS! What a prick!!

1.DMV takes forever to do registration IMHO.
2. You have to have an E Brake to be legal.
3. You have to have a rearview mirror to be legal.
4. You have to have a horn to be street legal.
5. One more reason why you need to take that wing off. It makes the car look way too much like a drag car IMO.

I'm on the fence on this once, yeah that sucks to get f'd with and I know EGPD very well definitely out there at times, but you gotta realize CA is a mess and just cause a vehicle is smog exempt does not mean it does not have to have the proper equipment installed, that is a huge misconception, hope it all works out for you trust me I'm a huge car guy but we are all slaves to CARB.

That cop is an idiot, since you have a 03 Cobra motor in your car you should have the 16 pin OBD-II port. Tell them to smog it as a 03-04 Cobra, you won't get the sniffer and as long as you don't have a CEL then there shouldn't be a problem. How are they going to enter a 1967 Mustang into their equipment when they didn't even come with emissions from the factory?

Just casue HE says that doesn't mean it's going to happen, let him keep pulling you over. Then get his ass fired for harassment.

Those cars fall under. The bi annual smog 66 to 75 don’t have to be smog bi annual but you have to keep all the oe equipment an at anytime the state can send you to the ref to get it smogged.

Doesn't say anything about the state sending your car to a ref if your driving it on the street.

Oh your just saying a cop can give you a ticket, yeah cause they normally don't know the laws. i wouldn't be surprised by that since this thread is about a cop doing such a thing. I guarantee if i took my Fastback or any of my dad's classic cars the ref would laugh at me and tell me to leave.

I think it has more to do with where you drive/live. I've punched it and come around a corner in my Fastback and had 2 CHP sitting there. They just looked at me and i bet i look younger than 408 even though i am 30. I've even had some cops not even look over when i cruise by.

I've been DDing ma 66 for like 5 years and have gotten pulled over before and have never had any problems with chp, and I do have a motor swap. Theyve never said anything about smog

And the punches keep coming. Picked up my car from impound. Drove home got 800ft. From getting to my driveway and all 5 1/2" arp. Wheel studs snap wheel comes off mangles my qrt. Panel......... really.......really ......what the Fuck. So car is possibly up for sale.

They snaped clean off the axle flange. Guy at the tow yard was a good guy. I killed the power to the car they coudlnt start it. The back lip is all folbhded in on it self

Not sure they cause just glad I wasn't on the freeway or at speed. The car would be really Fucked up and more importantly could have hurt me or other people. I just left a stop sign making a right hand turn going about 3mph and ban the goes my wheel rolling in front of mee

I am not pointing any fingers but 1/2" arp studs just don't snap that easily. I have a set myself and I couldn't image them breaking. Hope your luck turns around.

wtf... Did you change the studs that were on thoses axels? That rear end cost me an arm and a leg and I dont see thoses 5/8 studs snapping for no reason.

I think there is a misconception about how complaints work within a police department... At least from my experience, just because a civilian files a complaint does not mean much. If the complaint does not sound like complete bull shit, it will get forwarded to internal affairs for investigation. If there is a sustained finding, an officer could get anything from a slap on the wrist, days on the beach, ect.

The fact the officer took an enforcement action usually helps an officer in a complaint because the person filing the complaint is most often the subject of the enforcement and is not happy about receiving a ticket or whatever the outcome was...

You are wasting your time with the complaint. Face it you broke the law and got cited to the letter of the law. Probably got mouthy because you had paid fees but had no proof of it. So now he's making a project out of you. Motor cops will be well motor cops that's their job all stat driven otherwise just like anyone else they could lose their position for not carrying their weight.

yes my car has a 12" flat wing on the back... whoopty doo. but there are plenty of tubbed bright color cars with shiny blowers sticking out of hood type cars that have huge cams and blower surge all over the place. elg grove has friken hot rod car shows in the park... but we arnt welcome here according to the cop. Also i was never mouthy or out of line.i stand up for my self but in a respectful way. i respect police and what they do. the people they deal with im sure ,akes them jaded. Also yes i dint have written proof of reg with me. my fault for assuming there computer system was some how advanced and updated and would show i got reg that morning. but i dont agree with threatening me to pull me over every time he seems me no matter what and will have my car stripped. that's bull shit. already filed a complaint and the person i talked to ALSO agrees. i knew i was legit and was gonna get my car out first thing in the morning. though annoying i threw $400.00 away and a day of work but F it!
