i am coming to the point where i want to get out the 5.0 game and focus on the old school. i am sick of worrying about smog and smog police. the car getting stolen ect ect. i am thinking about selling it and getting a 2 post lift and a tko 600. anyone else get to this point before?

+1...I've always been in and out of the idea of completely getting out of the mustang game, but everytime i sell one, I always feel the need to get another. The issues that come with this hobby get frustrating at times but what I've done to cope with them is keep modding the car [Big Grin]

Whenever I do something new to it or drive it after weeks/months of it just sitting I always fall in love with it all over again...

Not sure if your 50 is your DD or a car that you drive on a normal basis, but if it is, just park it for a bit and sit on it for a while...then drive it after a long period of sitting and enjoy all over again [patriot]

Kinda in the same boat.

I expect to get out of the late model Mustang game in the next year or so. How long I'll be away is another topic, lol

You can put EFI on and old car, no smog...... I still wouldn't want to park in most places. But old cars are still stolen less often now then 5.0's...... And classic car insurance is pretty cheap. [patriot]

Honestly, a bolt on 12 second fox gets decent mileage. Definitely better than most SUVs and what not. Ins. is cheap on them, and you can have a fun fast smog legal car. Just costs a bit more.

Garage is the home of my old school. This 50 just sits on the side. I parted out my 88 gt and sold my 90 lx. Now I am just sitting on this 87 doing nothing with it.

Fix the old school, sell da hatch! The old school will all be worth it in da end.

OK,no ones gonna like this.Ive owned several foxes and i gotta say most of them seem kinda of clunky or rattly or kinda cheap feeling, especially once you get into a new edge or newer mustang. Now i know theres some real nice ones, and i still love foxes. But most took some bread to get there.Stick with the old school or step up to something newer.Or move out of the bay area and your fox will be reasonably safe. [Razz]

Ya, fun shit-boxes.

Anyone non-enthusiast I ever took for a ride in any of my foxes said the same thing:

1.) FUN
2.) Pile of shit in terms of quality lol

So true, the only reason I own one is because it's the fastest car I can afford to wreck at the track.

is the bay area the only location where foxbodies are stolen most frequently? it sucks having to go out and check your car at 3am on random days(what i used to do). at one point, i used to setup a camera at night to see whos messing with my coupe...got tired of that, and just relocated it.

and yeah smog is a pain too...

Foxes get peeled in the valley too but its nowhere near as rampant as in the bay area.
