D-day is coming to purchase my twin screw. Gotta make a choice in the next week or two. If you were me and looking to make a 600 + rwhp pump gas terror, which would you get and why?

Which head units are we talking?

Let's say anything less than a 2.6 would be out of the question.

As far as a procharged setup goes I have seen them make power, but id always keep a twin screw on an 03/04 car. Id def throw an F1 on a 99/01 car tho

F1, novi 2000, Centrifugal style... Something different where you can actually have a chance to plant the power down. Twin screws are nice when you can hook. But all that power at an instant is hard to lay down unless a highway roll. But from a dig with an IRS is going to be tough (if you have one) Either way 600rwhp is a lot to handle with any setup.
But if you ask I'd go with whipple 3.4 good quality factory made.

Id probably never see the benifit of a 3.4 on pump gas. That blower shines in high boost applications. Its lookin like 17-19 lbs of boost will be pushing it on 91. And e85 isnt in the cards yet.

Ryan i thought you had a 2.6? How much more power did you see after the break in retune?

nope just a lil 2.4, got it off ebay from a guy who was running something around 680rwhp/625rwt with his setup, paid $2200 for it. After the re-tune I gained 47rwhp and 33rwt!!! [patriot]

At those boost levels ide say a whipple 2.9.... I'm not up to speed with this stuff anymore but get it with the biggest inlet they make.... I would want the biggest intake tract, keep that monster fed!

From what I remember, whipples flowed more air at lower boost levels, and KB's shined up top, making them the better choice for a street car application. Not sure how true this is now with all these new blower cases out.

Whipple says ford on it.... It's factory officer!!! [Wink] lol

Yo, have you ever ran your 3.4 setup on a pump gas tune? If so how did it feel? I don't know anyone who has one besides you, much less anyone who drives with it on the street.

those new liquid cooled kb's are pretty tight..but i hear whipples make tq a lil faster and kb's whine out a lil further..i think a whipple would be coo for you bud

From all the reading I have been doing on SVTP, Corral, ModularFords, etc., both superchargers seem quite capable of producing power. Still haven't seen a comparison of a 2.8KB and 2.9 Whipple and don't know if that will ever happen. I like the balanced power production of the whipple, but the peak numbers of the KB are nice.

Guess we will see what happens in the next couple weeks. Any and all input is good input

from what i remember being at aed saun was saying he is a fan of whipple.. but i would talk to him to be sure...also racers egde tuning is a shop that tunes many gt500s and cobras.. greg is a nice guy and someone that will be able to give insightful info so shoot him a email..he always replies..just dont look at power see which is more reliable, better fit, superior design..good luck

I don't think you'll go wrong with either T. Like u said more TQ earlier out of the Whipple or more HP in the upper range from the KB. Both are bad ass! The new KB liquid cooled sounds interesting though. Need to look into that some more.
