My question is what will happen since I didn't show up? What should I do? Please I dnt need your smart remarks of how much of an idiot I am

i had this same thing happen a few years ago. i didn't respond or anything. they sent a card in the mail stating that i had not shown up and needed to call a number and get a new jury duty date.

So if I don't tell them anything they'll just send me a letter and give me another jury duty date?

You might have been lucky and your group was not called in...in this case i dont think you need to do anything!

right. or you can call and tell them you forgot. and they will either tell you to come down or give you a new date.

How do they know you got it in the mail? They don't send it certified mail where you have to sign for it. I wouldn't worry about it. They can't prove you ever got it.

My old roommate used to ignore all his jury duty notices. One day he got a letter from the court saying he needed to show up and explain his absence or a bench warrant would be issued. He showed up and he was in a group of like 50 other people that had to explain why they never showed up for their required service. He apologized and had to sit in the jury pool for the rest of the day.

Just call the number on the paper. Most of the time, you never have to show up that day. They make you call a couple of times before they have you come in or dismiss you.

i just delt with something like this last month...they sent it to my old address n it was forwarded to me late. i called them the next day and got it rescheduled for next month...not really a big deal. i personally think you should handle it and not put it off bc nothing good will come of it....GL either way [patriot]

+1 What Jury Duty?

Man the same thing happened to me about 6 years ago. I was paranoid and then just let it go. Since then I have "accidentally" throw the last 2 or 3 right in the garbage. I have been pulled over, been to court for a ticket since, nothing has ever happened. When it comes down to it, "Hey I never got the notice". [Big Grin]

Seriously, I wouldn't sweat it.
