Yup every event he's crashed within the first couple of stages with the damage being terminal forcing them to drop out from the event.

WRC and Gymkhana are two different animals. Just because there are people bigger and better doesn't mean he's not a good driver. Even if he places last in the World Level of Competition how could you call someone bad at that? How well would you do in WRC? He'd run circles around local legend jae-jae.

He's the first American to ever enter the WRC as part of a multi-year program. He placed third in a number of rally competitions from 2005-2009 and earned rookie of the year in 2005 Rally America Championship.

I'm just tired of people talking shit about someone competing in the highest levels of competition, trying, admitting that they're learning, but at least they're out there or the sport would be dead.

He founded DC with one of his buddies. DC was bought by Quicksilver in 2004.

Oh sorry BRO, I did not realize I had to post in this thread previously to say anything. Anywhooo, WTF was I talking about? Nothing much really, just liked what he posted, and how he said it. He, as well as I, both seem to agree that even though he was not numero uno at WRC, doesn't mean hes not good at what he does, WRC not his cup of tea I guess. So you just calm down there fella, k?

I'm just saying... you guys wanna gobble his knob go ahead. But he only seems to be good at choreographed routines. By the way has anyone seen a Gymkhana event? When trying to find any sanctioned Gymkhana events Ken Block has competed in and you come up empty. If Ken is such a badass and Gymkhana is apple to oranges when compared to WRC then provide some tech on Gymkhana events that Ken has run in and won?

Check your facts.... John Buffum was the first American to run in the WRC. He drove a Groupe B Quattro

Is it a fun and impressive video? Yes.
Does it take multiple takes to get some of the shots/sequences? Yes.
But why can't you be happy that there are people out there pushing the extreme sports? Videos like this going out to the masses brings in more fans. More fans equals more revenue. More revenue equals more sponsorships. It's what television did for the NFL. We're not "gobbling his knob", we're just saying its an awesome high def video with cars?
And yes, he's not the BEST driver out there but he's leaps and bounds over your everyday foxbody driver. Say all you want that you/your buddy in the Shelby Club is a better driver but their videos aren't being shared by tens of millions millions of people. Progress the sport man, don't supress it. This is the general talk section anyway, not the road racing section. Just sharing fun videos! Take it easy buddy.

Sorry, for some reason I thought that the official WRC page was accurate:

Yes I’m happy that he has good driving skills and excellent car control and is bringing Extreme sports to the masses. I understand what you are getting at with “It's what television did for the NFL” but what I’m annoyed with is people make him out to be a GOD because of his Gymkhana videos yet he’s never been in a sanctioned Gymkhana event. I’m not saying his videos are bad but since he’s not actively competing in Gymkhana events it kinds seems like a waste.

I don’t know where the Me and my buddy from the Shelby Club comment came from… but again it seems like your missing my whole point. I’m not trying to kill the progress about the sport I just feel he’s misleading folks with the whole “Gymkhana” representation when he’s not even competing he’s just making videos by himself, to me that’s no promoting the sport or progressing the sport that’s Progressing his ego.

It was only in 1997 that the current WRC took shape (4WD, 2.0L turbo, etc). He ran in the WRC in 1977 1983 1984 1988 2000

His video's are never a complete run... just a compilation of the best parts of several different runs...

and he runs time after time after time... he has money to mess up cars... you can see by the tire marks on the ground how many times he's done certain maneuvers before he got it good enough to be in the video.

the day he releases a video that is unbroken dash cam footage, and the ground is obviously fresh, i'll jump on his dick like everyone else...

Not to mention, has anyone ever seen Ken drive a rear wheel drive car? Or does he only drive AWD?

I think Tanner Foust is a way better driver...

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5Kaj0QyAUoo

you can see that like 90% of the turns are fresh in his run... no tire marks, except the ones he leaves.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=p4d3krLP1xU

and his come-from-behind victory over Ken Block at the X-games...

luke you have no idea how much lost footage is out there of me..lol..i still enjoy donuts and what not..but its more of a personal thing to do now..go bend a few corners sideways, longer drifts diff obstacles..but im not sayin i wont do a lil sum sum at a event or rideout..ive just cut down on the hyphy"er" stuff..but to answer your question..i can see myself making somethign similar prolly not close in quality but similar..let me get my suspension right first [Wink]

I like how well that fiesta can perform compared to the subies he had but when it comes to looks, i prefer the subies. More badass looking.

Dude why do you have to try and take Block down a notch?
He's a good driver, probably hell of alot better then yourself. I think most people understand there are better drivers out there. But no one could do one of his videos in one take. PERIOD
