How's it going everyone. I've signed up awhile back but never posted anything like that on the website. Just time to time I like to read on the General Talk forum and see nice cars going for sale.
So, back to my topic... I was headed out with the family in my car to Six Flags in Vallejo, i had got into the right lane and about 1/4 mile I'm ready to exit and in front of me was a delivery truck. I had slowed down from the speed limit down to like 35 to 40 mph. Had about 4 car lengths from the truck and all of a sudden i see the truck pretty much come to a complete stop. As for me just talking to my girl in the car and keeping my eyes on the road and seen the truck stop. And my reaction was step on the on the brakes, i stepped on the brakes like i was trying to squish a turtle out of his shell.
As i was braking i was getting closer to the truck and tried to swerve to the shoulder but it was too late and i had my foot still on the brake and the car was just sliding towards the truck and hit the lift gate of the truck. As i hit the truck all i seen the right side of the hood tranform into a 8-10 cowl hood.LoL
So, i had pulled over and the truck did the same thing. I had put up the parking brake cause the car shut off already(it's a manual)was checking if my two kids were okay and my lady. The driver and passenger from the truck stepped out looked to see if anything was damaged and i did the same thing to see how bad it was. As i was looking at my car i see them checking if there lift gate was properly working and then i guess it was fine and they just got back in the truck and started to drive off. The funny thing I was chasing the truck like they hit me but thought about it and stop.
My lady was like "did you get the license plate?" No, i don't need to... And she asked why "because if they took down my info and reported to my insurance it would've gone up" her "oh yeah" So while I'm sitting their pissed off talking about what happened me and my girl said the same thing to each other "the trucks' brake lights weren't even working." but to me it didn't matter cause i hit them from behind.
So the cause of that accident i got into was because there was another accident at the begining of the Marine World Parkway exit. CHP pulled over and did his routine to see if we were okay and asked if we were involved with that accident that was in front of us and told him no. Wrote up a report real quick and said he needed to see the accident that was up front. I called AAA to get the car towed back to the house and as we were waiting, the accident up front was cleared out and i looked at my lady and told her "You see how the traffic is going smoothly now, now the scene is gone. F***in rubber neckers"
I just picked up my 5.0 a month ago and now it's effin messed up. Don't know how to post pics. I was thinking of parting it out or looking for a shell if anyone has one.

It's not just the hood...when I hit the truck my right headlight busted and the frame bent in which caused my radiator to cave close to the alternator. Today when I got home I did a quick ghetto fix. I strapped some tie-down straps to my tahoe and to the stang frame and slowly pulled the bend out. Enough that the fan didn't touch the radiator when it caved in. I wish I knew how to post pics and show you.

Sorry to hear that OP, that same shit has happened to me before in 05, almost identical. Some truck pulled the same shit but in my case his spare tire dropped from under his truck and caved in my Cobra R bumper and when I got out to see the damage he took off.

Yup... You got it all that you mention is damaged. I'll post the pics up in a lil'bit.
And that's what I did, brakes were all the way down.
