i got boost! always there and never run out

Posted by Nastysvt (Member # 6431) on :

ive been a user of both. nitrous was always fun. when the bottle is filled and you have full pressure with the bottle heater, it would hit hard. never a dull moment except when you have an empty bottle and get rolled to a car you couldve beat with some nitrous, which is why i went s/c. boost whenever i want it and sounds bad ass!

blowers dont have to be refilled or kept at 1100psi...lol

Nitrous is fun though

BOOST BUT NITROUS HITS HARD THO . I WOULD LIKE TO FEEL TURBO BOOST [burnout]

Posted by SHOalex (Member # 7720) on :

I like both I useto hate on nitrous just to talk shit but to be honest I started using it cause it was a cheaper way to go fast at the moment but once those bottles start to get low the refills will sneak up on your wallet

i love nitrous hits hard but the bottle runs out if i could do it all over i would have bought a blower and the cost to fill a bottle [Mad] not cheap

Posted by cagedblackgt (Member # 10090) on :

The only way to do it is to use the Nitrous as an aftercooler for the boost

all about the smack

everyone wants to say how you'll pay for a blower in the long run by using nitrous, but they also forget that the blower is mechanical and DOES have some upkeep.

back when nitrous was $2/lb it was waaay worth it

now that it's up to about $4.50 it does makes a diff, but how much does it cost to rebuild a head unit ?

do you DD your car 20k miles a year ? you'll be rebuilding that head unit quite often at that rate

do you really want increased chamber pressure on your motor 100% of the time it's running ? or just 11 seconds at a time ?

theres more to it then some think.......

$500 right now to run 12's

$3500 right now to run 12's

no brainer for me, the extra $3k is worth 100 nitrous fills. thats 1000 trips down the 1/4 mile

If you're rebuilding a head unit yearly, you may want to figure out what the problem is. Boost isn't on the engine 100% of the time, it's on it as much as your foot is on it. That's what bypass valves are for.

Nitrous is great as a cheap alternative the first go-around. If someone spends $3500 for a blower and only runs 12's...I'd figure out what was going wrong. My first combo didn't cost $3500 total...and I ran 11.0's with it. (Used SQ trim complete, Edelbrock heads, TFS1 cam, Performer intake, 3.55's...stock 93 shortblock).

I like a turbo myself. My turbo has been on the car since 1985 and has over 100,000 miles on it and still works perfect never rebuilt.

If you are rebuilding your SC that often your motor has issues.

Nope. Only twin turbo 03 Cobra we did was a blue one years ago.

For black Cobras we have a 03 3.4L Whipple car and a flat black single 70mm turbo 04.

Nothing on CCW's though.

if it's just a straight line car running a 1/4 mile at a time, nitrous all the way.

love superchargers on a daily driver.

whoever said you have to rebuild them all the time is retarded, don't even have to change the oil on a stock eaton until 100k miles...

Posted by 50Reasons (Member # 6452) on :

Got them both but if I had to pick one then it would have to be blower cuz there leagal and always there when you need it and I love the whine and blow off sound pssssss!
