That's why I'm working on hooking my a/c back up. I tired of becoming one with my black vinyl seats.

Live in the Bay Area (the Bay Area is a city that actually touches the Bay's water). It don't get too hot generally.

umm im tryna get my ac working, everything is there just the ac pump's not hooked (i wonder if it still works). im on gettin it to work cuz its fukin hot here in sac.

It's not easy, i agree, but in my cars I had to remove the AC to keep the motors from overheating (not to gain HP). 347 strokers make a lot of heat. So I would say it's worth it to have all that torque, even though I have to suffer in the heat. But at least my motors aren't suffering.

Just wish I could think of a way to mount the AC heat exchanger somewhere else instead of in front of the radiator, so it won't compete with engine cooling.

Maybe. I can't figure it out. I have 3 mustangs with 347s, they all run hot. What radiator are you using? I have 4 row copper in all mine. The funny thing is, my truck has a big ass 460ci motor and a plain old aluminum radiator, and it never gets hot even with teh AC at full blast pulling my trailer.

Us little guys gotta get every last bit of hp out of our lil ol' 250-300hp cars.

On a real note though, removing the perfectly good working AC out of my fox was probably the only "mod" I regret. I am most likely gonna find a way to put it back in, luckily I kept all the parts.

What makes you think I can't "cruise" my car?

The only time I ever removed AC from any of my cars is when it was broken and I did not want to spend the dough to address it.

However, I would NEVER remove a perfectly good working AC system to lose 35lbs (other than the weight, when the compressor is not engaged, it acts as an idler pulley robbing almost zero HP).

Even if I got a 67-68 Mustang, the first thing I am installing is AC, lol. I don't care how much it costs.

The AC in my Cobra works like a charm. Too cold sometimes. [Big Grin]

Shit, from all the people posting i may or may not be running hot. I'm going to flush the radiator and use less antifreez and see if that helps. I still have a/c though! [Razz]

I never planned on removing my a/c. I needed to replace my heater core and had the dash out the car. When I went to put the new heater core in I realized that the one that was sent to me was for a non-a/c car. I ended up pulling the whole heater and a/c systems out and putting the dash back in and calling it a day. It looked a lot cleaner under the hood, but there were days I missed it for sure.

Pop up sun roof, aftermarket so it pops up a good 6-7 inches looks pretty weird from the back.
