ok so this jackass at work has a 69 maro with a built up 350 and automatic.. supposedly it should run in the low 12's mid 11's... i own a 66 mustang with a stock 351w and a 4 speed...guy wnats to run them in sac this summer and he wants to bet paychecks....what do i need to do to my car to hit low 11's or even high 10's at the 1/4 mile..i just want to beat him for bragging right and to shut him the hell up... were gonna go in mid july in order to give ourselves enought time to get the cars running properly..any advice would be greatly appreciated.....

Id say get some AFR205 heads, an Intake and a nice cam.

Then do the suspension to hook up.

your 66 is a very light car, go Heads, Cam, Intake, gears and better tires for traction.

thanks guys, what heads will be better??? im ready to start ordering parts....i thought about nitrous but i really dont want to go that route unless i have to....also what gears would be better???

does anyone have a proven set up for this type of engine??whats a better cam out there on the market??

The easiest way to go is nitrous, suspension, and a pair of slicks. You may need to throw a set of heads on it.. and if you do that then you may as well change out the cam, carb, intake, etc

Stroke that motor to a 408" then hit it with a 100 shot of nitrous then some slicks and gears in the back 225 afr should do the trick with a holly intake and a demon carb

NOS is my last option i wanna beat this dude on a a heads up race on motor alone.... but we are betting paychecks so i might have to go that route if it comes to it..
