Looks great.
But you hope those wheels will get you into the low 14's? This car is capable of low 14's 100% bone stock with a mediocre driver.
What do the time slips say thus far and what are your mods?

the fronts are 15x 3.5.. the rears are 15x5 with a 5.5" back spacing. no grinding needed for me in the rear.... but i used 3" studs for the front and rear.. in the front i used a 1" hubcentric spacer and it cleared by 1/4"

Rears are 15x5's??????????
So the backspacing is more than the wheel is wide?I take it thats a typo, with a 5.5" backspace those must be 8's right?

Mid 12's @ 106 is phenomenal. What 60ft?
I'm wondering who tuned your car and do you have any dyno numbers?
Looks like you are on a similar path as myself...
I have an appointment for a baseline dyno on June 5th. After that it's getting exhaust, pullies, JLT, IMRC deletes, Short runner, & tune...

my best 60' was 1.6x with 17" MT ET streets mounted in the stock, heavy cobra wheels..
i had my car dyno'd and tuned by Nick Newton (newtech performance) i know hes a GM guy but i had a bunch of GM friends go to him and i talked to him about a tune and he seemed like a good guy and he has tuned a decent amount of cobras. my numbers were 300rwhp/291tq and that was just the full exhaust and a tune with 3.73 gears.
im hoping to get a decent gain out of the short runner, UD pulleys, IMRC delete, and the JLT on my car the next time i get a dyno tune....
im also planning on spraying the motor also. i got a wet kit so im waiting to put that on when i have a chance..
it sounds like you got a good plan on how to make HP with just simple bolt-ons. are you going to install the March fluid Dampner? ive heard that its a good, worthwhile mod when doing pulleys..

Thanks for the reply. 1.6x is phenomenal for 3.73s as well. Was this done in SAC?
300rwhp/291tq... I have been doing a lot of research over the past few months for bolt-on 96-98 Cobras power figures, and have never seen one hit anywhere near 300rwhp with just exhaust (I realize you have a tune). 106mph seems awfully low for 300/291 as well? It sounds like you can drive so I would expect 108-109mph with that amount of power, with a full weight 96-98 DOHC car.
Does the car have a chip or was it tuned with a hand-held?
In any case, it looks like you are doing a lot of the same things I am, so I am interested in following the progress!
Keep us updated.

thanks! ill keep you all updated as it progresses..
actually the 12.54 was done at Infineon. ive been wanting to go to Sac to run the car because i hear you get better times up there..
i thought the MPH was low also.. i asked around on SVTP and they said "the better the 60' the lower the MPH"
it kinda makes sense to me, but im still a bit confused about it... i thought i was going to be around 108-109 also..
I do have a chip in the car. Nick, my tuner, used the hand held tuner on it of his own that he had at the shop.. he tweaked the computer itself, and then worked on the chip/hand held tuner..

Although it's true that guys typically will mph lower on slicks compared to street tires due to increased rolling resistance, a typical 300rwhp car might see 0.5-1 mph difference max, not 2-3mph.
Back when I raced regularly, my car was about 1 tenth faster in SAC, but that was a couple years ago (the 60fts were the same 1.70-1.75 between the two locations)
I am sure you have heard of the old saying, "don't claim power if you can't mile per hour" lol
I am impressed with 12.5x at only 106mph though. You are getting very good ETs for the mph (despite it not coinciding with 300rw). I should mention that my mph was consistenly 1mph lower at Infineon compared to SAC however.
Best of luck!
