Hi guys,

As some of you may have seen, I got a window tint ticket on my 96 Cobra while making the drive back up from the Knotts show.

I need a shop in the East Bay who can remove the door tint so I can get the ticket signed off. Then I plan to go back and install a lighter transparency tint instead.

This is just for the doors. I am keeping the limo tint on the rear windows.

Thanks Cafords!
Luke

LOL... I've received 3 window tint tickets in my GN, never been removed, and some lady that works for the Sheriff's dept signs them off. Go test your luck!

Pay someone to remove your window tint? Get a couple (new)razor blades, some Windex, and a couple small towels and go to work on it! Take your time and it will come off pretty big portions, using the Windex to lube the glass to prevent scratches(use new razor blades). The residue left over you can just wipe off. Easy money. As for the shop to install new, my old favorite shop is now closed, but there is a shop in West Oakland by Mostly Mustangs that is supposedly really good. I will be testing dude's work in a couple weeks myself.

How much is the fine? It should be cheaper to pay the fine then to pay to have it removed, then pay to have it redone again.

I was thinking the same thing. I say keep the dark tint and just pay the fine.

bag the window. soak it with a amonia based liquid, put a black garbage bag on it. park directly in the sun, a few hours later that shit melts away

Give Auto Sound Specialist in Union City a call. Although they're a stereo shop, they do good tint jobs as well. (510)471-3880

Thanks for the recommendations guys! I will look into those.

Also, I am wondering if there is anything closer to the Berkeley area?

I can obviously find places, but I am hoping to have personal recommendations from you guys that are known to be quality businesses.
