If my wife gets the job she's in the running for ill have one without a doubt. What I wanna know is how stout of a bottom end does it have? Could you imagine strapping a blower to that [Eek!]

It has a forged steel crank, rods are forged powder metal, and the piston's are hypereutectic aluminum with a compression ratio of 11 to 1 which means boost would'nt be the best bet. Look's like a great engine out of gates but everything is engineered so well that ringing more power out of it will be hard unless You are willing to slap some good rod's & piston's in there lowering the compression ratio and adding boost, they said You would only gain roughly 12 hp with the addition of long tubes. On the bright side it's much better base engine compared to previous offering's!

Cars these days are making rediculous power out of the gate. Makes it hard to compete.

The saving grace is that cars today are tending to get heavier at the same time however.

I would probably wait til they have been out for a year or two before i buy one. It's the first year they make a new model/version that they have problems

I'm sure people will get 12's in stock forn with that trap speed, high 11's should be attainable with sticky tred, tune, & few mod's which is just short of amazing considering where we were just a couple year's ago! In that article they said the previous modle pulled .94 on the skid pad so 1.00 does'nt seem far off with a spring/strut combo and sone beefed up swaybar's. With the linear 7000 rpm power range & handling it sound's like it will be a fun car to runout through the hill's, ford hit tis one out of the park for 30k & some change [Whoo Whooooo!] .

4.30's with that 5th gear 1:1 ratio, take the cats off, an intake and a 150 shot with a tune. A monster for sure....
