Well last saturday i snuck down to AED and got the fox on the dyno. Car had ran a best of 12.8 @ 111 so far but i really wanted to see what it made and make sure the car was running perfect. The car ended up making 313/319 standard and 302/308 corrected. I think those are the correct terms. And man im pretty happy knowing i cracked the 300 rwhp mark on a budget build that can still pass smog as it sits (outside of the catted high flow H pipe).

On my initial pull with the 02's unplugged the car made 299/298 i believe, and the above numbers were after the tweaks to the air fuel and computer. Whats amazing is how much better the overall driveability of the car has changed and it hauls ass now under full throttle and never feels choppy. My MAF was all over the place when prior to the tune. When i first drove the car home i noticed the changes. But it wasnt until the next day when i got on it that it kind of surprised me. Hopefully when i get back to the track i can pick up some more mile an hour and dip into the low 12's high 11's on some slicks.

Gotta give it up to Shaun though on his tuning ability. My setup is pretty basic but he got the most out of it and man it feels good. Im going to be tweaking a few things and heading back up there to see what it does. I highly suggest you fellas take your cars up there for tunes in the future. Here are a few pulls...

Nice numbers bro...is that on with a custom chip? Whats your combo?

What did you need exactly for the tune and what was the increase in power, horse power wise, nice smooth runs, I like and your car sounds good to

Nice numbers. Car sounds good..
what rear gears are you running?
It got up there fast!

sydewaysix Yeah it was tuned via a SCT chip i got from one of the members here (707vibrantcobra). Combo consists of off the shelf parts all sourced/built from CA Fords besides the cam. 306, AFR 185's, holley systemax, comp cam, bbk equal length shorties and a catted H pipe. Pretty modest setup. I was debating on putting on some longtubes but the extra power at the wheel isnt worth the hassle on the street if i get pulled over.

50 Reasons dont need much for the tune besides some money [Big Grin] . Just make sure everything is working properly so your not chasing gremlins on the dyno. Shaun has the SCT chips at his shop or you can bring one.

threethirty1 Currently the car is sporting 4.10's that i will probably swap out for 3.73's at some point. But thats after i get done with the drag strip and get it ready to road race.

Good #s when are you going back to the track?

What MAF are you running?

That car must not be as heavy as you think to be trapping 111 with those numbers, which are great numbers by the way.

Turbo 50
When I previously ran the car it was full weight. Tools and all in the back. I'm currently running a C&L but plan on swapping in a Pro-M and going back to the dyno. Shaun had some difficulties getting the C&L to read as well as he'd like. But yeah the time/mph at the track had me thinkng the car made more. But appparently 300 is enough

East Bay 50 Probably gonna head back out to the track on a grudge night or Test & Tune. Next time I go it will probablt be the last for a while so I'm gonna pay a lil extra for better track prep and more runs. Let me know if you wanna bring yours down

04cobra408 Yeah bro it was good meeting you too. We all gotta go back one night and line up against eachother

If it is not raining, i'm gonna go try to run this saturday. Someone told me I should try shifting at 6500rpms instead of 6000 lol! Maybe thats why my times were so shitty. With the power my car makes i should be int he 11's I guess we will see..

For sure man. When you gonna be done with that thing anyway?

East Bay 50 & Mike D. I will probably be out there Saturday morning. Then I'm gonna sand/primer my car after the track assuming nothing breaks. Give me a call that morning. 916 265 8572

Glad you're happy T!

First run without the chip was 289/298 SAE (cold intake) and an A/F in the low 11's / high 10's!
302/308 was a hot-lapped run on the dyno. I'd expect 315ish with some cool-down time.
Due to the A9T having over 31 degrees timing programmed in stock, and your base timing at 12, I did not adjust timing at all.
*NOTE* Not all A9 series computers are programmed for 26 degrees timing total! Hence the reason why *some* motors detonate with base timing at 12+ and other can take 15+ (assuming all-motor and no tune).

It should feel significantly faster with the correct A/F now. & there's still more in it (at the track) once you get rid of the valve float & are able to rev/shift the thing above 6000RPM.

& yes, your Maff is.......shitty for some reason. It took some doing to get the A/F where it needed to be below 4500RPM. Of course, you're rarely under 4500RPM going down the drag strip, so you would not have noticed this issue going down the 1/4 mile.

Shaun man I plan on getting a Pro-M and throwing it on the car soon. I will come back by one of these days and see if it puts down better numbers when cold. Do you think I will need to make any adjustments once I put it on?

I was sitting up in my seat cruising in 3rd and when I downshifted into second it kinda threw me back. Made me giggle [Razz]

But yeah fellas, track most likely this Saturday if we got good weather
