As you already know, the Feds are going to close up lots of Post Offices all over town. This is bad for everyone. Small independent businesses nearby rely on the foot traffic for steady growth.
As of tomorrow the Post Office located in Oakland's Kaiser Center Business Building is on the Guillotine for closure.
A formal public hearing will commence at Laney College at 5:30 pm. You can voice concerns, too. Be there! (if u can)
My Mom's Shoe Repair Shop is located right next to it and a medicinal clinic also. Building management already set a petition and others are spreading the news to email the Post Master General urging not to close that station. It's been there since the early 1960's.
So, I ask all of you to please email the Post Master and tell your reasons why you need it there.
Helpful hints: You work in the building for BART, or you work for Kaiser Permanente, Law Firm. Several small businesses are going to be severely affected. A Coffee Shop, Sandwich Shop, Shoe Shop, & Medical Clinic. The other Main Postal Station on 13th st has aggressive panhandlers, (some with mental issues) the wait time in line will be bedlam, (out of control) you must clock-out of work to travel far to send a package and your boss hates it when you disappear, parking will be limited and parking citation officers will see this as a blessed reaping of it's own citizens.
If we flood her email storage with concerns I know she'll get the message.
The Post Master General's email is: Lowana.Gooch@usps.gov

Let's Do this! [burnout]
Let's keep the Postal workers walking and delivering as they did for many years.
Bless You All!! [patriot]

So we blame Obama for Federal cut backs due to a poor economy...and we also blame Obama for spending money to jump start the poor economy...and we don't blame Bush for creating the poor economy?...Ok, I understand now, we blame the person trying to fix the problem, but not the person who created the problem...

nope we blame liberals. Liberals started this shit. Pressure banks into giving loans to people that could not afford them. That's the bottom fucking line and republicans didn't do that shit. Your "looking out for the people" democrats did

No. I blame them all for getting us into this mess. F*ck most politicans, they're in it for themselves, not the people.

Bush may have messed stuff up, but you're just part of the sheeple if you believe this "Messiah" is just making it better.

should have voted for mccain atleast you would have gotten 30k in your pocket. He was trying to give every single legal american 30k to jump start the economy i believe that would have helped me spend more money to jump start this economy but whatever hope everything works out

+1 liberals are one of the main reasons were even in this mess to begin with. [patriot]

It was actually the republicans strong belief that the market would police itself without oversight and restrictions...greed, dishonesty, and a lack of restrictions caused the economy to crash...but regardless there is a problem, and there is someone trying to fix it...let's hear a conservatives solution that is better than what has already been tried...

what has always worked. Lower taxes ane promote investment. Actually I don't want to get into economics right now. I am beond pissed that democrats and liberal idology put california in this fucking mess it's in now. 30 percent of wellfare is in this state alone. I see first hand what liberals do! I've had enough of this shit!!!

So the decisions of a republican governor did not do anything? His initial answer to the budget crisis that got him elected is what is causing the budget deficit today...75% of the budget deficit is related to the bonds he used to fix the initial budget, but the real problem is how the budget is based on an analyst forecast...Also how would lowering taxes and promoting investment help the economy today...Wouldn't that help the economy over a long period of time?...How would that help create jobs?...not criticizing just asking...

Without going into too much detail: Madison007

lower taxes= more money in the pocket
more money in the pocket= more money to spend
cut taxes on small buinsiness owners= money to invest in growing the buisiness and employing more workers.
More workers = lower unemployment
lower unemployment= more people paying into program's then people living on them.
Less unemployed workers= lower support for liberal thinking and fewer left wing voters.
Less left wing voters= a better United States Of America for everyone that's a real AMERICAN!!!!! [patriot]

Might be Republican, but I wouldn't call him conservative.
