They feel that because the state is strapped for cash and released them early that they can get away with more shit now. I hope they lock his ass up for a long time now, he deserves it.

[Mad] [BS flag]

California has some of the worst decision/law makers [Roll Eyes]

I would be talking to a lawyer if I were the victim....Maybe there is some way to sue the state for letting him out early. Maybe there isn't.

Sacramento authorities said they let about 200 lower-level offenders out of jail Tuesday, compared to an average daily release count of somewhere between 100 and 150. The releases apply to offenders such as drug dealers, car thieves, drunken drivers, spousal abusers and the like. Sex criminals and serious and violent offenders have specifically been exempted . ^^^^from the second link

most of these guys that were released were going to get out anyways, they all had under 6 months or less to serve and commited NON violent/sexual crimes. what that guy did has nothing to do with him being released early, he would have done the dirt reguardless of a early exit from prison.

California prison systems have the highest rate of recidivism in the nation, the entire nation. We also have the largest volume of prison inmates this is NOT icluding county jails. Now they want to realsease inmates not to mention the talks of cutting correctional officers from the payroll. Which will increase overtime and these repeat offender will be back in no time. Who will fill the positions of the officers who were laid off. How are these things not obvious to the California government. Has anyone wieghed the cost of incarceration versus the amount the state wastes on medical for the offenders when most of them wouldn't have had routine medical services on the street let alone any type of costly percedure. Also please not that some ofthe medical staff at the institutions make upwards of 10-20k per month. Has anybody seen what percentage of the state deficit is prison medical spending? I think you may be quite disgusted. Point being is there is tons of money to be saved in the prison system it just does not start at the release of inmates or cutting correctional staff and certainly not furloughs. Cut education or put it at the offenders expence. Cut recreational programs. Use the inmate work force to produce more revenue for the state. Let the inmates have a basic and standard regular medical check up. If they need extensive medical treatment it should be up tithe offender and there family to provide some form of medical insurance. What kind of morons are regulating outlr budget. Sorry for the rant I just disgusted because I had to cancel my retirement payments to Recoop some furlough money. It's bullshit.
