$700 is a great deal....check out island pacific as well in union city off dyer street..been getting my tickets over at this place inside the market called prestige travel..girls name is jenny...good prices, been getting them there 4 years straight after the other 6 before of going thru internet...usually go with cathay pacific cause pal's airplanes are falling apart(big screen blurry, food rest's lean so your food tray keep sliding, interior old and ect)..lucia tan is a cheap mofo should upgrade those damn planes..only thing good about pal is the direct flights...i'll be there next xmas/new years if anyone would like to meet~ ~ ~mabuhay my fellow pinoys

I have not flown to the PI recently but when I did go I used Singapore Airlines. Good service, food is good, and the flight attendants are hotties. Also it's been known that some attendants stay at your destination for "business arrangements" but you'll probably need Tiger Wood's hook up to find out which ones. MikeP is that you in the red shirt? Put those guns away that dood thought you where robbing him.

we stay right around there. my grandparents bought that land way before there were any houses around, and built there "mansion". when my grandma passed, she gave it to my mom, and her siblings to divide. they tore the house down, and built a 4 floor townhome type thing where all the siblings houses are separated but the ground, second, and rooftop are open for everyone. hard to explain, but dope idea.

venomous, thats where you stay out there? Tondo, is the Richmond of Manila (for those that dont know)

thats where most of my family is at. i dont at all feel unsafe near the place we stay but of course there are some pretty rough parts to any hood in the PI. there is nothing better than posting in front of the house with a small table drinking and eating palutin with a bunch of your family then hitting town to party.
its all good..i dont mind getting down w/ my ppl.lol last time i stayed there i was in a high rise above robinsons in malate..probably not as luxurious as rockwell or the fort but im not there for the condo..LOL

I'm going there for my cousin's wedding, I'm gonna walk her to the altar since my uncle can't make it home for her. I'm going there with my mom, but my girl is there as well as most of my friends form HS, so excited!! I'll be there for 5 week.

$700 for airfare is great! hahah! we can even have a little CaFords meet over there maybe, but the only thing is we're gonna be rolling in tricycles not Stangs, LOL!!!!

Any other suggestions, guys? THANKS!

Shit I paid $1180 from SFO to Manila. Just got back after 7-8 days in Cebu City, Ozamis, Ilegan City and some other provinces in the Visayan region. AMAZING trip!

You could get some cheaper tickets from travel agents using transfers from Korea to Manila since those are cheap but you are stretching your journey from 12 hours to much longer..

I have seen $788 for a LA-Chicago-Korea-Manila but the layover in Korea is 6 hours so you're spending 24 hours traveling.

malate is where my dads family grew up.. pretty rough out there too. but the last time we were out there, they turned malate into a pretty crackin spot.

damn 88? hahaha, its hella different out there now. id check out malate, fort bonifacio, ayala center, and greenbelt for night life. theres hella other places too mikep, and venomous99 knows what im talking bout [Wink] .

as far as the females, you really cant beat the manila girls coz they mostly connected to the us so they not fobby at all, just a bunch of high class balling ass females! ang bango! hahahaha. i cant deny the beauty of the natives, but unfortunately the accent kills it for me.

lmao.....haha you just about summed everything up on the reals though..it has def. changed...to many things to do in the phils. you dont need to stay in manila/makati area also. you can island hop or even go up north or south of manila..ride the buss and watch all the people try to sell you quail eggs, hamburgers, peanuts(and they hella good) all kinds of shit lol...its just a fun overall exp. in my opinion....i recommend for not just the flips but everyone on this board to check the phils. out...even though manny is ronnie colemaning it we all still good people's lol...

Oh yeah, I flew EVA air via Taipei, nice airplane, great service, fantastic food. They only hire 20-something stews that are good looking.

id have to say if price or direct flights werent a priority id choose PAL last as they have some of the oldest airplanes and some of the most irritating riders(yes, some of our ppl are living like theyre in the PI). love asiana as the planes are newer an is also decent.
this is based on my experience from 8 years ago, so im sure its gotten even better since then.

Everyone told me to stay away from Philippine Air, they seem to have a bad reputation. EVA was the same price (but with a layover, instead of nonstop from SFO) but I'm told it's worth it.
