NEW YORK -- Mark McGwire finally came clean Monday, admitting he used steroids when he broke baseball's home run record in 1998.

McGwire says in a statement sent to The Associated Press on Monday that he used steroids on and off for nearly a decade and he apologizes for his actions.

He says: "I wish I had never touched steroids. It was foolish and it was a mistake. I truly apologize. Looking back, I wish I had never played during the steroid era."

Eventually...once he cheats a couple more prominent fighters to gain tainted wins and become president of his country...I guess it is ok because he is doing it for his fans and country...

Does anybody remember when Barry Bonds, Roger Clemens, and Mark Mcguire were talked up the same way Pacquiao is today...The stuff people do to be great...I wonder if it is ever worth it...

They should all agree to come clean at the same time lol. Strength in numbers...

I've heard many people say that the majority of baseball players used steroids during that era in differing amounts.
