I am not a fan of Christmas because it's so hard on my wallet!
I dont make real good money and I'm saving up for my wedding in November. I just found out I'm going to be buying more baby gifts/ shower in a few months..... Not to mention the same people having the baby just had there destination wedding in Mexico last October ( that wasn't cheap to attend ) I just feel like I'm not able to do anything for myself.
Am I just blowing things up or do you guys feel the same way about Christmas to?

I feel as if the holidays are only here for the retail business. I enjoy the time off and being able to see my family, but hate spending money on things I feel compelled to buy: tree, lights, etc. I'm sure it would be different if I had children, but until then....humbug.

I'm with both of you. I'm married and between my wife and I we have 5 kids so Christmas sucks the life out of us. Times are tough and I was trying alternatives to buying gifts this year and it looks like I won't be able to do it so now I'm struggling to put something together....... sucks when you don't have the money to hook the kids up with all the cool stuff this year. ![[Frown]](frown.gif)

thanks to a fellow board memeber our christmas is going to be a nice one. my car budget dropped though oh well makes the kids happy and throwing $700 in a envelope to the wife gets her off my fucking back for a couple days, doubt I'll even get laid for it though.

Never liked X-MAS but always for the wife and kids did the best for them. After being married for 27 years and the kids are 23 and 24 its better. The wife gose and gets what she wants and the kids are cool. So what I am trying to say is it will get better. But you all are right X-MAS IS A MONEY PIT! All I want is a set of axles a drive shaft loop and a set of drag radials. So Merry FUCKIN Christmas LOL.

Ya I hear you, if you are the man of the house, that comes with expectations that are typically targeted at the wallet lol.
My biggest turnoff when it comes to the holidays is other people's expectations of me.
I don't want anything, I don't want to give anything. I just want the family together for a nice meal and some quality time. THAT'S IT.

I think people are just tired of the retail hype. We bust our asses all year just to get a few days off work at the end of it. Last thing I want to do is go shopping and fight against all these other motherfuckers shopping. 80% of the other people shopping don't even celebrate christmas but they will sure as shit go out and take advantage of the sales.
