I would like to first start off by saying that hands down, that was the best fight of the year!

It was a close fight, but it was obvious who inflicted the most damaging shots. It was obvious who took the most damaging shots. Hell, if you just saw how much more damaged Williams was at the end of the fight, that alone would tell you who won.
Everyone knew, including Williams, that he didn't win the fight. Never once did he smile afterward, and if anything he looked dissapointed. I give him props for that.
This is why so many turn away from boxing.

One judge said it was a draw. Another gave only one round to Martinez. I thought a draw would of been fair. They showed heart they need to do it again.

I was flipping back and forth from Kimbos fight and this fight and then started watching it in full when Kimbo fight was done. But from what I seen, Martinez should have won that one for sure. He kept on ducking and weaving Williams punches and then coming in and tagging him with really good hits.

LOL...
What was total BS was the idiot judge who had Martinez only winning 1 round!!!
They mentioned he was one of the judges that robbed Malignaggi too!
It was close, but Martinez deserved the W.

I thought it was a close fight but I think Paul pulled out the win. martinez GAVE paul the last two rounds for sure. All in All it was a good fight. I had Williams winning 115-113. Paul does not punch very hard at 160lbs and he needs to improve his defense. If Pavlik or any true middleweight would have landed those shots he would have been put to sleep. Williams was the busier fighter the entire fight and he always presses the action but I saw some serious flaws last night in his game. Sergio Martinez is no pushover though. He fought hard!

Thought was a great ass fight. Martinez is tougher than I thought. Paul fought out of character for quite a bit. Not using his reach. But I think Martinez would punish Pavlik. I hope Paul gets the nod to go into the super 6. Or B-Hop comes to his senses about the David Haye mess, and give P-Dub a shot.

I am sure P-Dub would have not fought Pavlik in such a manner. I would also like to see him V Mosely. Mosely will definitely fight him.

Moseley already had the opportunity to fight him and passed... Moseley knows he would get whooped! I am starting to wonder on The Moseley Berto fight. Moseley is gettin kinda old, father time might catch up to him that fight. I have not seen betrto fight though so i'm not sure.. But at 38 years old, how much could Moseley have left?

Hopkins will fight Dawson...the public pressure will demand it...Williams has actually fought this way before, but I think the fight should have been a draw...

Mosely still has tons left. Him and Hopkins seem defy father time. I think Mosely guided his last few steps carefully as to build himself. I think it was smart too. He basically made himself a gatekeeper so to speak. Berto IMO is nothing special. His has reasonable skill, but is scrappy and undisciplined. This should be a relatively easy. I had him losing to Collazo until like the last 2 rounds. And he couldnt KO Forbes...so. If Mosely gets the WBA belt he will really be the shot caller in the Welters. And will be the consensus must fight for the winner of the Mayweather V Manny fight. A unification bout is what he is after and put himself in a great seat right about now. I often dissed Mosely for how he has guided his career, but bypassing P-Dub for now seems very smart.

I am pretty sure we will see Hopkins V Haye in Europe next. He seems pretty adamant. And you know how B-Hop is when he is adamant about something..lol. Look it took 17 years to even consider a fight with RJJ.

Mosley has been TERRIBLE at guiding his career. He could have fought oscar for 15 million but instead fought Winky wright and LOST! he could have fought Floyd Mayweather but he instead fought Cotto and LOST! He could have made ALOT more money in his career if he used common sense....

I watched this fight and a few others of Paul Williams and I will say it like I said it before... Im not impressed!! Match this guy up with one of the best and he will be knocked out. His defense stinks. You will see the same in the Berto fight cuz they are both alike. Big punchers no defense. Many people on here disagreed with what I said but I hope you agree now. Williams isnt pollished enough to fight the big fights. Martinez exposed this guys flaws and you can't even consider Martinez to be one of the elite fighters. Martinez had a good tuff fight against Cintron who aint an elite fighter so that should tell you something. Someone said he was better than Tommy Hearns... Tommy woulda sent this guy thru the ropes to the scorers table lol.

But look where he is at now. A win against Berto makes him the gatekeeper of the division. With the winner of the May V Manny fight being able to unify the division. If Manny were to win, the media spin they could put on that is insane. So ultimately Mosely could be part of this round robin of record breaking fights.

lol....this is completely wrong. Keep in mind he prepared for a lefty in Pavlik (a champion). Then had to change and only train for a matter of week for a righty and scrappy fighter in Martinez. There is a reason no one wants to fight him in 3 weight divisions. He is a problem no matter how you cut it. And I still say he is a like Hearns just more athletic. His big flaw is he tries to please the crowd by getting into exchanging and doing the warrior thing. Dude can flat out box. Pavlik dodged him 'nuff said.

I guarantee you that Moseley will never get a shot at fighting either Manny or Floyd...Regardless who wins I promise there will be a rematch and the way fights work these days Moseley will be 40 before his gets his shot...Both Manny and Floyd have passed on Moseley because he is too much a risk...I believe each will retire before they waste their time fighting Moseley...Although the fights would be entertaining for boxing fans I don't see either even considering it...I think there is a better chance of Moseley fighting Cotto again...

That is a good point. But I think Mosely will fight beyond 40 at a high level like Hopkins. I do not think however Floyd or Manny will. The public will cry for a unification bout tho. If either of them continue to fight. The rematch will be in 2010 as well. The world is ending in 2012 so I would like to see the belts unified before I go. [patriot]

Pavilik is an Othordox fighter(Right Handed)...Actually similar fighter to Martinez just has a little more pop...I believe his analysis was a little harsh, but also pretty accurate...I think P.Williams is a talented fighter whose height and weight make him a problem in lower divisions...Not his power, Hand speed, or defense...His fight against Martinez was pretty much what i have seen from P. Williams...I have always thought his lack of fans and public support was the reason he was avoided not his boxing skills...But I think he would be a challenging fight to any of the current welterweight because of his size...If he was 5'6-5'9 with his same skills he would not last...

Its a mixture of both why he is not getting fights. His handlers are terrible. The Pavlik fight is what he needed. I do not want to see him at welter. I wanna see him at Middle. My money was on him vs Pavlik.

Moseley is the odd man out in ALL the big fights coming up. He took the berto fight cause he can't get ANYONE else to fight him. Something tells me that Moseley is gonna start to look "old" in his upcoming fight..
