Just picked up an 04 Lightning 60K on the miles. Its completely stock. Never had a lightning before so wanted to see who's got em and what are some good mods to get. Not looking to completely redo the engine or anything but if i can get it in the 12's i'd be happy.

I got a bunch of crap NIB like a bbk cold air kit and idler arm with billet pulleys . Spark plugs , 180 thermostat , 4 lb lower with belt . ECT.

My dad has an 03 and i drive it all the time, one thing i dislike is the shifting when you're in it. i think there's a mod that can make the shifting smoother, i suggest you do that. Thing shifts hard.

there a tsb for hard shifts you replaced the senloyd pack on the valve body

Havent been riding it that hard, I love the SC whine but havent noticed the hard shifting yet. I was going to wait until I finished up some new owner maintenance before I floored it.

sure it doesn't have a shift kit?

My HD has a shift kit in it and it spins the tires on the 1-2 shift over 1/2 throttle [worship]

nope it was a comon problem on lighting h/d an explores
