So my 99 Camry commuter car is becoming a money pit. I've put in between 1500-2K in car repairs in the last year and looking at more repairs pretty soon. I want to sell it and get a new car. Has anyone around here bought a Fusion hybrid? Looking at getting one. They have very good reviews at most of the automotive websites and I like the specs.

Any suggestions? Will consider any dealer in the Bay, Central Valley, or Sac as long as they actually stock the hybrids. Any dealers to avoid?

dont do hybrid if you thinking you will save money..do it if your a tree hugger.. hybrid will be more costly to maintain and resale value later down the road will be crap.

+1 [patriot] Hybrid = waste of money

I have never purchased a car from a dealter but I know that Serramonte Ford has a pretty good rep. Unless you are buying "brand new" then I would be from a private party. If you are considering buying brand new I would think about getting a low miles used car as you will save a ton of cash.

Good luck [patriot]

i know its not a ford but the new tdi jetta its a great car too, and it does much better mpg than any hybrid and since it has a turbo it would be faster than a hybrid. but don't get a hybrid just a waste of money. [patriot]

+1 for a tdi jetta, but the 3.5 altimas are fast as hell and comfy to boot

the 2010 fusions are really nice. They handle well and the interior is awesome. If you are going all freeway for your commute the hybrid wont get you the best results it can deliver but who can argue with 40 mpgs. Just make sure you get sync. Its completely badass.

I like those older Jetta GTI hatchbacks. From what I hear they are super reliable.

I was in the same situation, and got a new Honda Civic Si. Fun little car, it feels like a turbocharged go-cart lol. Those new Altimas aren't bad either, depends how much room you need.

I hate financing cars, but I got 0% financing, and now my payment is less than half of what I was spending each month on gas for my truck. Not sure whose offering those deals right now, just be patient. Should be some good year end sales coming up too.

I wasn't stuck on a Ford or anything but I ended up with the Fusion Hybrid because it had the features I wanted and got a superb deal at Henry Curtis Ford in Petaluma. I did get the Sync system with the car and it is worth its weight gold. Thanks for everyone's input.

if u want to get a hybrid id rather take an older cng car like the honda civic gx 2006-2008. $1.80 to $2/gge fuel, carpool access and still get +35mpg.

still got my rental, altima hybrid. this car got more cabin room than my jeep, i was tryna hand my daughter her bottle, and i literally had to reach way back just to hand it to her, anyways i was cruising on 680 goin 85, and my MPG guage said 60, hahaha.. my wallet caught a break! good times. but i gotta say my favorite hybrid ive gotten as a rental would have to be the escape ones.
