Supposely it's an iPhone killer.
My coworker runs his own blogspot/review channel with all cool new technology items and he said this phone should be it.

That's funny, I promptly threw my blackberry away when I got a new phone. Hell, the reason I got a new phone in the first place was because of that blackberry! That thing was clunky and unreliable, the texting SUCKED and that damn roller ball worked like shit. I was doing maintenance on that phone every few days to keep it going. It was 7 months old and was junk from the second month.

Must have gotten a bad one. Blackberry really specific niche and it's geared towards business applications. I've been using them since 2003. I push 200+ emails a day, edit docs, and answer go through a number of text messaging. The roller and the keypad is what most reviewers say is the best on any phone. We got around 100 of them in the company and everyone loves them. I couldn't image if all our phones crashed every other day.

its far from being an iphone killer but a good competitor with a few feature tweaks. since the iphone has years ahead of the droid in apps development it will be awhile before these other anthroid phones get the support from the developers where the apps are anywhere near where apple is. i like the google maps navigation on the droid but im sure in time we'll see a similar version on the iphone.

Iphone is mainly good for it's cool little application.
It TERRIBLE when it comes to using it as a phone (calls, drop calls, battery life) etc etc

lol.. that dropped call issue may be related to at&t network sucking balls. i probably use my iphone for like 10% making phone calls and the rest for crazy apps.

My Mogul HTC still kicks ass, but I want some cool flip interface. But I still need to create word docs and do excel and shit on my phone. My phone is still basically a mobile computer.

The Droid isn't an iPhone killer, it's a Windows Mobile, Symbian and Blackberry killer. If I can be so bold as to predict, within...oh, let's say 3 years...there will be two smartphone operating systems left, iPhone and Android. Blackberry may hold on a little longer because of a VERY loyal customer base, but they would be smart to embrace Android asap.
As an iPhone user, I welcome it. It will kick Apple in the ass to provide more features.

Agreed.. dropped calls and lousy 3G data is the At&t network. When there is a decent 3G connection or if you are connected through WiFi the data is fuckin' fast!
Landscape keyboard and auto correct make texting easy.
The GPS mapping works great.
Oh yeah, and it can run aps too
I guess a phone is really a personal preference and I have to say I like the iphone a lot.

I just got out of my contract with ATT and was going to renew my contract for the iphone. I think ATT has great service. All the places I go and where I live the service is awesome!
I switched to ATT because Sprint decided to give blowjobs rather than give me good service.
I never heard of this phone (lives under rock) and just youtube'd a review and actually like it.
Hmmmm. decisions. I'm going to have to go look at both phones and optional service plans. I know your forced to have certain iphone plans. Not sure about the droid.
Any input on what I should do?

I am now torn between that and the HTC Touch Pro 2. I like the google maps on the Droid and the fact you can speak to it and it will give you directions to that location. Then again, I have a Magellan. Decisions, decisions.

the samsung moment dropped on the 1st by sprint. they also got the htc hero. i bought the moment the other day. truthfully, it kills any phone out right know. andriod setup is the shit. all and any apps are free right in the palm of your hands. iphone charges for their apps and if you wanted to replace your bad battery for a new one, might as well get out a hammer.
