whats up fellas I have a major problem. I locked my keys in my lastnight, I used a hanger on the passenger side to hit the unlock button but nothing happend. Do I have to hit it on the drivers side? any other ideas how else to get in? I'm located off thorton in fremont!

do you know someone with AAA? I have it but of course no where near you. You used to be able to buy slim jims at Autozone. You can try that.

throw a brick through the window. its cheaper to replace a window than have aaa come out

AAA costs 50 bucks for a year. If you know someone with the service they can call for you and it is free to you.

haha I have AAA but used all my 4 road services this year helping friends out and myself once! I have a slim jim. It is pretty hard?

lift the door handle..there should be a hole where you can slip a screw driver or equivalent to access the door lock rod.
Posted by SAMACH1 (Member # 7042) on
:
you could try pulling at the corner of the window frame and bending it back a little bit then hit the unlock button...
Posted by Mike-5.0 (Member # 1925) on

perfect. I've heard its hella easy to get in. I hit the Unlock button on the passenger side but nothing happend. Does it have to be the drivers side? is pics on where that hole is when I live the handle? what do I look for? Thanks for the help guys, Just sucks i had to leave my baby across town! cryed all the way home ha

ok there two ways that are super easy to do you need a long flat head scerw driver lift the handle up an you can see the door lock rod push up an it will un lock.the second if its a hatch look under you will see a rivt remove it pull the metal clip out an pull the lock out an you can open up
Posted by venomous99 (Member # 1917) on
:
pull the handle..u should be able to feel around for the door lock rod. btw, this is the way thieves easily break into foxes w/out any forced entry.
u might as well secure your car by removing those and also putting a metal plate blocking your hood latch as you can easily put your arm up through the bottom and pull the latch w/out even getting into your car.

yes you are right have done this before

i had to do this the other day for my friend.......easiest way possible is right about the license plate in the rear is a phillips screw that holds the lock cylinder in place in the hatch, undo the screw and pull the lock out then take the screw driver put it into the part where the latch is and pop the latch, takes 2 min and doesnt cost a thing

lol...we will now see a rash of stolen stangs... Just to add, to secure your handles do the metal plate thing and drop the rivets and use carrier bolts with lock washers

easiest way flat head about 6 inches long put it threw the handle and find the rod and just go up unlocked

Came out a lil wrong. I didnt mean to imply you would be stealing cars. Just saying this put some juicy "how to steal" a stang info in circulation. But I understand you were trying to help this dude out,

Im in fremont at work. If you have a long thin flat head screwdriver I can pop the lock for you in 10 seconds.
Posted by Blu50Stang (Member # 489) on
:
First off, I hope you get your keys.
I would not have posted the screwdriver method on a public forum. As it is, too many people know how to easily get into these cars.
Posted by venomous99 (Member # 1917) on
:
since it looks like a few havent heard about it, letting them know is a step in the right direction on adding more security to your car. if anything this info is for those that are vulnerble stang owners. secure your stangs and add kill switches at the very minimum.
im sure all the thieves out there already know how extremely easy it is to steal these cars so its not new info.

Yes, this is a great thread for anyone who is looking to steal a Mustang.. lol

I doubt this thread is the clencher for someone out there that is "thinking" about stealing or breaking into a fox body...........
Anyway I didnt say anything about how or what to do. I simply said he will need a long thin flat bladed screw driver.

I wouldn't recommend posting on this public thread for security reasons. I'd just PM the thread starter.

Deffinately not a clencher, but ther is enough info in Alex's post to help someone learn.
I hate to say this, but I regret trying to help out here. It's things like this that have made me less active in the mustang community.

Unless you never drive the car, your car will be out sometime....
My point is protect the car as much as possible but remember if someone is a fucking asshole and desperately wants your whip, they will just tow it. Sucks fox's can't be driven daily anymore without stressing about some loser thief

yea because people thay steal these cars have no clue how to get into them. I'd rather have Mr. Rookie thief use a screw driver rather then a brick

for those who dont know about securing your stang, take this thread as an FYI... you're not securing your stangs enough and need to be more informed.
and folks give me a break. knowing this info will not make the difference between someone who is considering stealing a car vs someone who would.
if a thief wants your car, breaking into it cleanly is irrelevant. the potential thieves that may lurk this board already know the inns and outs of stealing cars and if they didnt, that would just mean breaking your key lock or window to get in vs unforced entry.
