looks like shogun is winning...

edit: I dunno if I like that decision but I do like that Machida is still the champ

im pretty sure this along with brock is the start of the end of the UFC as a serious fight org. Strike force is going to be the legit place to fight.

I will say that the sport is at it's peak as far as ratings....but I miss the days of ken shamrock when he was in his prime. When the ufc was new it was off the hook. But I got such bad press.

The only way for the ufc to make big money is by having guys like Brock bring more fans into the sport... Same with guys like Kimbo.
(Dana to some has sold out, but he's laughing all the way to the bank) [Eek!]

That was a bunk decision.I thought Shogun won at least 4 rounds. All those body and leg kicks c'mon. That just shows why you need to finish fights because you can never count on the judges.

While I agree that Shogun should have won the fight, the one concession I have to give, is that thier is truth to the saying "To be the champion you have to beat the champion" and not point yourself away to a victory.

Shogun didnt seem to want to end the fight. If you leave a fight to the judges, and its not decisive, there is a good chance its going to the champ.

Just my .02 but I had SHogun 49-47 in that fight.

Machida won't be able to walk for a week at least. I thought it was a good fight, it just showed how good Shogun is. Machida got hit way more than any other of his opponents and he took it and stood all 5 rounds. I definitely think Shogun won the fight and was robbed of the victory.

This was a completely different machida than the one that fought evans ..he wasn't explosive at all..he barely let his hands go ..the times that he did attack he tagged shogun and caught him with some good combinations ..it was a good technical fight..but machida needs to work a lot more on letting his hands go like anderson silva(who was in his corner) he has his timing and angles down he needs to compliment that with some good boxing..

Shogun got the upper hand in this fight no doubt about it. However, for the title to be exchanged, the judges need to see a convincing win.

Did Shogun win convincingly? That's open to debate. I'm not sure he did.

I'm also not buying that the fight was fixed, but I am leaving with the conclusion that you probably can't expect to take another guy's belt unless you beat him convincingly, more convincingly than Shogun beat Machida.

One thing is for certain however... Machida will be going into his next fight with zero momentum.

Also, I am not too thrilled with the upcoming events (UFC105, 106, 107, 108). None of those fights really move me.

I'd like to see Fedor-Lesnar and Evans-Jackson, but neither look like they will happen anytime soon unfortunately.
