i just went to this breakfast spot called Shelby's on highway 12 just last week, leaving from fairfield..food is good and the pancakes are huge! Its in Rio Vista so it might be a little out of your way. I think 20 minutes or less from Fairfield depending on where your at.

Is Shelby's the one across from the Shell station?

njot right acroos the street but two buildings over, theres an arco..thats the closest
