Ya, there are def lots of brown recluses here in Ca. But you probably won't see them as much as you see other spiders, (garden spiders, daddy-long-legs, etc.)

We had a out break of those here in the Central Valley. My friend got bit and it looked like he had leprosy in his leg. It was nasty as hell and he said it hurt like a dog bite.

Ya, it's def not a male black widow.

It's probably a male "Money Spider". They are common in the Bay Area.

When you google Money Spiders, there are 100s of different types. But if you look at the structure, it is almost identical.

Scientific: Neriene digna

^^^^^^^^^ That is a Recluse bite! It is what happens when not treated right away. Does anyone know if a male black widow is venomous or not? You don't hear much about males, guess its because they dont live long enough to be a threat lol.

I think it's called liquefaction, where the tissue is basically turned into liquid and oozes out of the wound, which can form an abscess. That is ridiculous looking!

Male black widows are totally harmless and are actually whitish in color and are quite small. I have a huge black widow in my garage that's always catching bugs and flies, sometimes I feed it myself. The markings are very obvious with the red hour glass on it's belly. Yeah there very poisonous but really avoid people when ever possible; it's actually pretty cool to look at. I doubt that spiders is any threat to you, cool looking though.
