i took my car to get some caster camber plates installed at a shop and they fucken cut my brand new maximum motorsoprt plates. They took a day and a half to finish my car. They never called me to tell me they weren't going to fit and they were going to have to modify them. They claim to say that the parts were wrong and its for a newer mustang when i clearly showed them the kit prior to leaving my car. They never even called me to tell me the car was done i had to keep calling and checking on it. When i went to pick up my car i was in a hurry cause i was headed to fairfield and pick up my mom from the doctor. It didnt cross my mind that they had problems installing them because they never called or anything. they made it seem like it was all good so i paid them and took my car home. i opened my hood wen i got home to check my oil before i went to fairfield i noticed the plates and they were all cut up and shit it just looks ridiculous. i was hella mad. I went the next day because it was to late that day to go back. The owner starts to give me this stupid as story about them not being for my car in the first place but they made them fit and shit yararara. like im some stupid as that doesnt know about cars and shit. So now he tells me he aint gonna do shit cause its all done and whatever. What would u guys do? Im placing a complaint with the BBB. What should i do cause this is bullshit????????????????? help me out guys. need some advise. burn down the place? lol

Yeah post pics one time.

That sounds like total [BS flag] to me, how that fuck they gonna say it wasn't for that kind of Mustang, show them the box or some other kind of proof telling them the years its for.

Posted by chevyeatr (Member # 7603) on :

I'll post pix tomorrow. I gave them the box and i showed them the kit online to verify the year. i mean come on they're just trying to say its my fault now. when i clearly showed them that they are for my year. They saw it and they know dam well theyre wrong. they just don't want to admit it. cause they don't wanna give me my money back. This is totall [BS flag]

what part did they end up cutting up? If they're maximum motorsports, they sell them in pieces so you won't have to buy to entire new set for the piece that they fucked up. Don't tell them that though, try and get a new set out of them- fuckers. Tell them you're willing to settle this out of court, and never go back to them after they buy you a new set.

Been watchin a lot of judge judy lately, seems like you have a case lol worst case, u get to be on t.v [Whoo Whooooo!]

Give him 1 chance to make it right. If he blows you off, call the BAR then tell him you'll see him in court. [Wink]

I had a customer with a similiar issue, I recommended one of the shops I use for suspension and alignments but he needed it done pronto so he took his GT to PepBoys. They installed brand new MM chrome CC plates and used a HAMMER to bang them around to get them where they wanted. while they didn't look bad at all (owner was pissed however) He did make them replace them and he kept the original set (which I did some work for in trade and are on my 97)

Don't take NO for an answer !!!!

I'm not taking no for an answer. I'll post pix later so u guys can c how ugly they look

cut them wtf? mine worked np with no mods. post some pics up I know a MM kit aint cheap either.

Even if your car was wrecked, there wouldn't be any cutting involved in getting MM cc plates to fit. I have actually installed 2 sets of these in the driveway with handtools, all it takes is a strong drillbit to drill an extra hole in the shock tower on 94-04 models. If your car was that f#cked up from a wreck making the cc plate not fit, it would have to be tweeked REALLY BAD!!!! You would no right away simply by looking at the shock tower....

You should drive down there with someone who actually has these plates installed on their car the right way, show it to the owner, & see what he has to say... Either way, you need to make them replace the kit with a new 1 & install it yourself...Its actually pretty easy.... LMK if you need someone to come down to the shop with a car with MM cc plates installed, Im down to help...

whats the name of the shop??

Posted by chevyeatr (Member # 7603) on :

its some shop in stockton called El Camino. i should of took it to a known good shop. i just figured its not that hard to put on some cc plates, it not like its brain surgery. but apparently it was for these fucken idiots. i'm goin tomorrow again to try to settle this shit. if not i'm sueing those idiots. fuck it.

Lolz. First mistake is u took ur car to a shop called "El Camino"

But yeah file a complaint with BAR. What it comes down to is what was expressed on the work order. If the work order doesn't say that they are authorized to make modifications without your consent then they shouldn't have cut your plates without your expressed permission first. Same way they can't perform work you didn't agree too first and try to charge you later.

Also if there was an issue with the parts then they shouldn't have installed them. A reputable shop would have reinstalled your factory components and told you to come back with the right ones later if they were in fact incorrect. The whole point of you taking it to a shop is so they do it right and don't jimmy rig it. The shop is liable.

I know wat u mean. That was a mistake on my part. But its not my fault they fucked my shit up cause they don't know wat they are doing.

El Camino tire on Wilson Way I take it

If I don't have the time to do installs/repairs I have several VERY reputable shops I use here in Stockton/Lodi area.

I will take a look at it if you are in the north Stockton area at all, the more than likely didn't position the springs in the perches correctly which would cause one side to sit higher than other.
Let me know and I will PM you my number

I think these are the same guys that are being slammed on Craigslist, go to auto parts and type in the shop name. If so these guys are real asshats that have a bad reputation.

throw the plates at his face then say want my money back bitch when hes on the floor in pain [Mad]

Posted by chevyeatr (Member # 7603) on :

That's funny cause wen I went back the first time some foo tried to act tuff with me I laid him out.
I warned him to get out of my face because it was between me and the owner but he didn't listen so I had to woop his ass.
Then they threatened me by saying they were gonna call the popo and I said fuck it call them.
They didn't call them they just told me to leave so I just left and went back another day.

there supposed to call and make u aware of any changes by law. its a easy case.they modified a peice of your vehical or part on your vehical with out your consent. speedy lube can never do my tune ups.and quality tune up can never do my tune ups. i trust 2 people on my car.90 percent of all shops are a joke.

Chevyeatr, the same exact thing happen to my car right a few years back right before taking a trip to Arizona except it was a shop in Sunnyvale that was throwing on my MM plates. Long story short, after all the bickering I just decided to stop wasting my time with them and live with it. It may not be the prettiest site but my alignment has never been an issue once since then.
