sometime between 2 and 6 this morning someone came into my driveway and stole my 93 cobra. It's vibrant red with no fog lights. Please if any information please call 510 507 1648.

hooray i found the car. So today after being depressed at work all day i decided to pick my lady up and go drive around oakland to see if i can find my car. So i drive around all around oakland and go down this one street and it's not a horrible street or anything but my lady is checking all the cars on the right and im doing them all on the left till we drive by this one house and i happen to catch these 4 guys working on a car that had just my color fenders so i turn the car around and drive by again to make sure. I didn't stop of course but went to the end of the block and called the police. While we were on the phone with dispacth a random officer rolled up and i flagged him down with my hand. He pulled over and i told him that i thought my car was in this guys garage getting pulled apart. so he asked for my license plate so i told him it and he ran it and realized the car was stolen. So then he asked what house it was and i told him 4th one on the left with all the cars in the garage and a matress covering it. The cop left and about 20 min later he called my cell phone sayin it was my car and that he arrested the 4 guys. And tells me to pull up so i do and get to take a quick glance at my car and it's all taken apart they had the front bumper off the rear hatch the wheels all the interior everything was for the most part was stripped out. So the cop believes its a part of a chop shop operation and they call the investagtos in to look at everything and take pics. So yeah the bad guys go to jail for a long time. My car is recovered. My insurance covers it so im getting it all repaired starting tomarrow. Im still waiting for the call to go see it and call my tow company to get it towed down to my body shop but i'll take some pics tomarrow. its super sad but on a happy note the bad guys get caught and go to jail more cars are now safe. I get my car back and thats it. thanks everyone for all the support you have givin me.

Oh and dont worry those little shits are getting time my parents were both district attorneys for 30 years so they are putting these guys away for as long as possible. it on fairfax ave off of high street. They believe that have a shop on fruitvale ave, They got most of my stuff taken of the car allready. The engine and tranny and diff are still in the car

The only problem with that is they aren't going to lock these guys up for very long over a stolen car. The prisons and jails are full of scumbags that have done serious crime's, car theft isn't a high priority on their list. Being a victim in this though, you can get the information on who these guys are and post it up. I'd post everything, names, addresses and descriptions of everyone involved.

Amazing story bro!!! Amazing finding it yourself as well. I'm glad to hear that you didn't give up on your search to find it. These are probably the same faggots that stole my cousins (3rdlife) coupe off of fruitvale earlier this year. OPD found his car the next day in the 40's with the rims, music, and a few other parts missing but mostly intact. I did a little driving around myself near where i live (Without my Heat!...) and kept my eyes open for you while at work on my routes. Nothing better than finding it yourself even with it in the condition it is in. Props to you on the find. I got a few parts from my totaled 89 coupe if you need them.


Do you work near High st.? If so i think we met before while i was working.

With all the cars that have gone missing in the last few months I'm sure it's possible other people's parts will be turning up wherever these fucks have parts stashed. I'd contact the cops and find out what you can do to identify any parts they may have.

Kewl to hear you found the car. Sucks to see the condition its in, pisses me off actually. As far as salvaging the car, being its a rare/collector car you tell them you may do alot of the work yourself and you could save it from being salvaged. I would only have done what needs to be done at a shop. The less the total cost of fixing in this case the better for you. Unless ofcourse its to far gone then you can get the cash and go buy another one

Yeah bro when u get the police report or when it goes to trial please post up all these guys info. Definitely the address. Judging by the work they did they are familiar with stripping fox's and stealing them without tearing them up.

Oh and the car doesn't necessarily have to be salvaged. Even if the ins co pays off the owner the ins company has to apply to dmv for a salvage cert. Its their complete discretion to do so or not. If he has full coverage on the car and a majority of the parts are recovered the ins company will jjust have it repaired. He can also negotiate with them on repairs to keep the title clean. Usually the only automatic salvage is if the car is missing for more than 30 days.

jesus look at the damn house. im sure these people were renting, if so the owner should be held accountable as well..how could you not know what the *uck is going on when your house is a shithole and stands out like that..depressing for the car but so so so happy you caught these people man..big ups to you and thanks for the great story that you have gave me today..my car was once stolen from club sound factory in frisco back in the day and found in oakland at the tow yard stripped..very bad feeling when you car is stolen....props bud

wow, i just read everything and the situation is just bitter sweet.

that's amazing that you found your car yourself, but it's so sad to see a '93 cobra in that condition. i don't know what i would do.

i would probably stake out who lives there, see what they drive, and when the time is right PAYBACK. i wouldn't necessarily hurt anyone, but they wouldn't be happy waking up every morning seeing their properties fucked up.

hey everyone thanks all for the replys. Its pretty awesome getting my car back. They cut up a lot of wiring in the doors so what i plan on doing is making it into a cobra r. I have all the parts minus the front brakes. Im goint to make another tread on the process. Keep an eye out for stolen cobra parts still. Im missing my side skirts and my front bumper. And i'll reply to all your questions in a min but for now im going to go out and celebrate. Thanks everyone

Sad part is wayyyy back my buddy got busted striping a honda civic. He had it at his house and was caught in the act. He served 3 days in jail and was released. Ended up with 3 years probation and that's it. Slap on the wrist.

My insurance covers it so im getting it all repaired starting tomarrow. Im still waiting for the call to go see it and call my tow company to get it towed down to my body shop but i'll take some pics tomarrow. its super sad but on a happy note the bad guys get caught and go to jail more cars are now safe. I get my car back and thats it. thanks everyone for all the support you have givin me.

I am so on top of my cars. Never EVER get caught slippin leaving a car out. I see these stolen car posts and still someone that had read this is leaving their car on the street. Block that shit in. I'll say if they want it they will get it, but if they have to choose between your car and a car that's not blocked in they might spare you.

I'm glad they found your cobra. My 93 cobra was stolen back in 00-01 vibrant red too. It was found several days later in Oakland by E. 14th and MLK ave. It was totally stripped inside and out. Look like yours but a little worse, no engine,tranny,seats, NOTHING, lol.... Fucking bastards, still pisses me off till this day!

Same thing happened to my brothers 92 convertible back in 04 I think his car was stolen for the 3rd time and it was like literally not even a week after he completely finished putting new white leather interior new performance red with pearl paint job new transmission basically new everything and it was stolen and found like 4 days later completely stripped windows, doors, rims, engine, transmission, whole interior, top, gas tank basically everything you can take off of the car and left it on bricks and oh yeah I couldn't believe people actually stole his broke ass ten holes with almost no thread at all but yup they took each and everything!!!!!!!!

I was hoping that wasn't gonna happen to your Cobra glad to hear you found it in time or else I thing it might have ended up like my brothers

That's good to hear, that you got it back. I also was looking in Oakland, and Richmond where mine was stolen. The left front wheel was the same type of wheels on my driver side when I got it back. Being that you found it in Oakland I don't think any of my parts will be there, since mine was found in San Leandro about a year ago, my stuff is probibly long gone. Good luck on the restore, I sold what was left of mine it just didn't feel the same. But I have a new ride and I'm happy now it's almost like the one I lost. Make yours better than it was and you'll be happy, but be more aware and get every security device that's avalible, that's what I did. Again, good luck on your restore.

Sean, this is an incredible story and I am pleased to hear that you were able to locate the car.

Oakland is a big city, so the odds of you running into the car were probably extremely slim. It looks like the car was gone for about 2 days judging from when you first posted to the update stating that you found the car.

Did this chop shop have a commercial name that it was hiding behind? Or was it just an unmarked garage? Did you recognize any of the 4 guys?

I am bummed to see the car in its current state, but I hope you will be able to bring it back to its former glory.

So what were the cafords screen names of these 4 guys, huh?

My concern now is that these guys end up getting a slap on the wrist...

no it was in some dudes garage off of fairfax. I found my rims in san leandro for the car so i have all those back. Im starting to put it back together as a cobra r its gettin the paint put on it as we speak. I'll keep everyone updated on whats going on.

So im gettin closer to finding my parts. Thanks for the concern and keep on the look out. Dont buy any leather opal grey interior in perfect shape cuz it's probley mine. Or half of bbk caster camber plates. I got the side skirts at the body shop they are getting painted soon. I'll keep everyone updated.
