this has been an on going discussion from me and my cuzin and im incuding u guys in this whats a better tranny the top loader or the t5 I say the t5 but he is a firm believer of this top loader in a fox coupe what do u guys think about this

Matt has a very strong argument about that 4 speed he needs to get on here. He says he doesn't even make it to fourth gear on the freeway.

my buddy blew up tko 6oo hundred, i know maybe somethin was wrong with it, although it was brand new out the crate, 4 or 5 tough bulit t5s,over a couple years for the iron eagle all trans blew up! for the last 2 1/2 years hes been runnin a top loader that he got for me and he loves it! and he beets the shit out them all !he says he will never go back. for me the street i like the t5, but if i was beatin shit badly i would go top loader.

I had a HD toploader in my 68, but destroyed it on a freeway on-ramp one day. I had a TKO installed, which was the best $ I ever spent on that car. Short tires, short gears, and no overdrive gets really old, fast.

this guy does not have a top loader,he has a s-rod 4 speed out of like 83-84 mustangs.

scratch that he got a srod blood was rite it might be a lil beter thand the older t5s here are the specs:
SROD cast tranny
1st 3.29
2nd 1.84
3rd 1.00
4th 0.80

SROD aluminum tranny
1st 3.07
2nd 1.72
3rd 1.00
4th 0.70

they both support 265ft.lbs and the older 85-89 t5s hold the same amount of torq

mr. E the s-rod is just straight ass junk! the shifters are so sloppy it's like fucking a fat bitch thats sitting in a shauna.. t-5 > s-rod.
but top loader over a t-5 any day..
and did you see the post about the roller rockers in the tech section.. well since there on your car maybe you don't want to look..
