My daughter filled the tank on her car last week and said she only got 209 miles out of it. Does the 4 cyl Fox have a smaller tank than the V8 cars do? She didn't remember how much fuel it took to fill it so I was hoping someone here knew off hand the size. I might upgrade it to a V8 tank for her if its that much smaller, still it seems like the mileage isn't very good on that thing.

it says those cars get 21-26mpg, so i bet she is getting a lot worse than that. also, says 15.4 gallon gas tank. sounds about right.

i belive the tank are the same size my 4 cyl get 300 mile a tank right know take me about 42 bucks to fill up (87 octan) from a dead empty tank.

Ye them 4 Cylinders eat a lot of gas for how small they are my dads old 4 cyl used to guzzle gas down

She said it took $26 to fill the tank up last time she filled it and at almost empty she had 209 miles. $26 for 209 miles sounds reasonable. Its a 93 so the best engine style in the Fox 4 cyl, just tuned up, clean oil, new air filter and the exhaust is almost all new. The only thing I haven't changed is the O2 sensor, maybe I should put that on the list to try.

$26 / $2.70 (guess) = 9.6 gallons

209 miles / 9.6 gallons = 21.7mpg

i got around 17mpg in my 89 4cyl when i had it. thing was not good at all on gas especially since it only had 88hp lol

got a prizim that i drive to the bay a lot and on a 12 gallon tank i get 420 miles i drive 52 miles after the gas light comes on this thing rolls for ever [Big Grin]
