Well, it's been a while since I posted anything on my airplane project. Its SLOWLY progressed into somewhat of a shape of a part of an airplane. Having a buddy crash his in my visual presence didn't help progress at all. He was in the hospital for 11 weeks and passed away due to heart failure. Really the whole situation hit me hard. Restless nights, thinking about the crash since I was supposed to fly with him and changed airplanes at the last minute. I can tell you that decision saved my life. There wouldn't be a Stevo typing this message today. Ok, enough of the rambling. Here are some shots of my progress!

stevo im lost. i see a beer for one and i think beer and building airplanes dont mix. LOL

but whats the item in the first two pics and how do they relate to the third?

Haha, the beer is ALWAYS after the building is done. The 2 pics are of the same piece. They are the spar(backbone) for the horizontal stabalizer(the tail section) which aides in pitching the aircraft up and down.

What kind of powerplant Rotax? Lycoming?

Posted by Stevo (Member # 972) on :

Thanks! Lycoming 0-320, 160hp cruise @ 210mph. Rotax is way under powered for this airplane.

Stevo, anyone who builds their own airplane and actually flies it is one special SOB.

You could not pay me enough to do such a crazy thing. -
