am in the market buying a new mustang I came up n 2 that I liked now to choose.what do you guys think I should get.a 2001 mustang gt 5spd or 1995 cobra mustang.the cobra is 500 less than the 01 gt

how much are you looking to spend? I'lls ell you my 95 cobra VERY clean, full MM suspension, etc, etc...its ready to rumble

I like the 01 body style better than the 95 but thats my opinion. Now a days you can get many used parts to make your gt run like a cobra Lol

I would get the Cobra. It is pretty cool having a limited edition specialty car IMO. Plus it still has the 5.0 engine that you can get tons of parts and stuff for on the cheap. I am not sure how they compare speed wise stock to stock. But I have a 94 cobra and I get thumbs ups from the guys in newer GT's. See if they still have the window sticker and SVT certificate. I have that stuff for mine (framed)

Whats the mileage on each car?

Buy the Cobra from Six! I have seen this car in person. Very clean, plus 5.0's are easy to work on and cheaper to upgrade. His Cobra is White and has a great stance.

Also first order of business would be to get a 96-98 rear bumper cover so it says "Cobra" on the back as well.

I had mine up for sale for about 4k as well.

My vote is for the 01 GT, I have owned a bunch of SN95's and new edge bodies and like the 99+ better. It also depends if you are really suck on the "Cobra" thing. The New edges have nicer body lines, more options on tasteful body panel upgrades, mainly that of the 03-04 Cobras, the new edge chassis is lighter then the SN, the leather is nicer, and the tranny is stronger(I think), the rear diff fits the quarter panels better(not sucked in nearly as much as previous years), and a couple other reasons. I would be afraid of blowing the tranny in the 95 just because its a pain to find one because they don't interchange with the Foxbody units and were only produced for 2 years. I have both a 96 and an 01, as you can tell I favor the 01 but no matter which one you choose they are both bad ass cars. I would Carfax both, then check them both out in person with a fine toothed comb and drive the shit out of them, see which one drives better.

+1 i spent in total less on my car plus mods than my brother's 02 gt and i will blow his doors off plus regardless of the year, a cobra is a cobra and u dont have the same satisfaction as in owning a regular stang (no offense to no cobra owners)

I personally love all mustangs. But most of all the old schools i used to always ride thru the town primered down and always get thumbs up and respect. Ive got a 90gt and a 68 my baby next to join the stable will be a cobra just gotta get my ends together if u have a chance grab that thang.

thanks guys!yeah i think ama go get that cobra!hopefully its still there when i go see it tomarow.but the newer gts have the tremec tranny they are pretty good i used to own a 04 gt but am geting me that cobra lol
