I was so close to gettin one for two racks from some place back east... so close. instead i picked up a bully pit locally for about the same price lol.

DEFINATLY a bad ass dog get it! And loyal.

For the most part they aren't the dog they used to be. Nervous and defensive not prey driven like you would want. If you want to checkout some dogs come to the police dog trials in santa rosa on the 27th. I'll be the guy getting bitten up in the fat suit.

dude i had one for like 4 years and it was nothing but a pain in my ass. the freaking dog destroyed evreybit of my property and would tear the fence up to try to get at my neighbors rabbits. i finally had to give it up to some doberman rescue..it was that or shoot the bastard

I would say that they are pretty lame now unlike the Magnum PI days.

I have had 3 dobermans and all have been great dogs, my current one is 2 1/2 and she is the calmest thing ive ever seen but as soon as somebody comes around the house she lets them know she is there..

I'm not one that likes to spend tons of money for a specific dog
If you want to help a dog out get a rescue Doberman.... All my dogs are strays off the streets of Vallejo all mutts all great dogs. My papillion mix thinks she's a big bad watchdog [Wink]

I agree with you all my dogs have been rescue dogs, my current puppy we adopted about 2 month ago just because we had seen her and she had been abused and beaten, so we adopted her and its hard but shes doing well and were treating her well,

As far as a doberman goes I want a pure bred Doberman Pinscher puppy so I figure its going to cost me about $1000+.

OH SHIT MY DOG JUST STOLE MY CHICKEN AND THE CAT IS LICKING MY MASHED POTATOES! THATS WHAT I GET FOR POSTING AND EATING [Mad]

One thing if u do get the dog and or decided on croping the ears... Since they are so long once they are cropped and bandages removed the ear/s will tend to not stand up and fold over... and then they have to go back in for surgery. $150- $300 a ear!

Not all turn out like that but its possible. i was anxious & scared to see my puppy when her bandages came off, all was good though!

LMK if you get one, a vet in oak. is really known for his good work in ear cropping.

I got a pup about 3 months ago she was 2 months I'm the 3rd owner. I was told it was a rott but she has a longer snout and she's more of a mahogany color and not tanish. She's skinny and tall so I'm leaning more towards that she's a dobe or maybe mix rott and dobe but I just don't see any rott features but overall she's a great dog loves people and dogs. I did some research about dobe great dogs and very smart if I remember right they are the 5th smartest dog, so it wouldn't be a bad pick. Good luck on finding a pup

I think we paid $25 to get my dog. In 6 years we've paid about $3,000+ in vet bills. That isn't including food, toys, bedding, shit shovels, leashes. I'll never pay more than $100 to buy a pet because the costs to actually keep them and maintain them is not cheap.

My dog is great. Not many people really like him though. He only lets me pet him, he bites other kids but not mine, if my wife and I argue he barks at her, if she makes like shes hitting me in the shoulder or something he'll try and bite her. LOL great dog.

He's half Min Pin and half Cockapoo

I believe it's a Dogo... AKA, "Argentinian Mastiff." They look a lot like pits but are generally all white and big! My buddy in college (from Argentina), had one. It weighed about 140 pounds. Looked mean, but was actually very nice!

93EXCHP- No it's not a shock collar, it's actually a aerosol collar that I can control. When he acts up I can spray him, it's also got a buzzer I can use to warn him.

Mitch- Nice dogs man! They look great! Yea he's 9 months 90lbs, so who knows how big he'll be when he grows up. I took him swimming today for the first time, he had a blast!

The white dog is a dogo argentino they are a lot like american bulldogs and pits. Do not get a Presa just because you think they look cool and are big. They are too much dog for someone who doesn't know about training and isn't going to train them continuously. As for the 130lb shepherd, there's a really good chance that the dog will not hold up a few years down the line. Most show line shepherds have really bad genetics with the hips and joints. Presa's and Cane Corsos have become popular for all the wrong reasons. You could easily be facing a huge lawsuit if you get one of those dogs and don't regularly train them. If you want a big bulldog type dog I would get a working line american bulldog because they have the appearance and are usually pretty docile. Come out to the Santa Rosa fair grounds on the 27th for the police dog trials. I will be the guy getting eaten in the big bite suit.
