My daughter graduated today and we gave her the car. I was stoked, we went to brunch and gave her the simple gifts..... all I gave her was a card and a toaster ![[Big Grin]](biggrin.gif)
We all left the restaurant like the day was over, she was with her mom. They swung by my sisters house to "pick something up". When they pulled into the driveway everyone came out of the house and I pulled into the driveway in her car with a huge bow on the roof..... she was floored. Its the best feeling to be able to hand over the keys to her first car. The first pics are of the car all dirty when I got it home and the second set are what it looked like on delivery.

I gotta give a HUGE thanks to LB 5.0 RYDER for the complete and total hookup on the wheels!! Without his generosity it would be running on 10 holes and 195-70's. It shows there are some above and beyond great people around here!!! I still have to do front brakes, fix the A/C, replace the front bumper and window tint but its a driver.

Thanks everyone, I just had to share. I'm proud she graduated and is moving on in life, I'm also happy we were able to get her a car. Things have been tight lately with cash, I know it has been for most people. It doesn't help the government was holding up our tax return so pulling this car out of my ass really was a task but with family chipping in cash and cool people kicking in parts it came together. I guess I hold a little higher standard because no one expected a $500 car to look that nice but I have to admit, I did a ton of work including mechanical and detailing. I've got some parts waiting to go on next week, just didn't have time to get it all done with the time crunch.

Yeah, that's on the list as well. I'm going to install power windows, locks and mirrors for her, then the alarm to lock and unlock the doors. The car looks decent but nothing is in good enough shape to steal the car for it. The rims have corrosion under the chrome so from a distance it looks good but if a thief gets up close enough he'll hopefully pass it up.

Awesome, thanks for the offer. I have a few things to iron out before I bring it down. The pump won't run even with the pressure switch jumped so I want to get it all working and then I'll bring it down along with your favorite beer!

The car looked even worse in person but I knew it would clean up ok. All I did was wash the hell out of it and give it a quick wax. I also repainted the trim around the windows and the mirrors, wet sanded and polished the headlights and removed the gay pinstripe it had. The wheels made the most difference I think, they really set it off.
I agree, airformancemobile707 is a stand up guy along with lots of other people on here. I'm just happy the car came together as quick as it did but now its sitting in front of her moms house with a flat so I've gotta go fix that today....

That car couldn't super dummy swingin with 100 horse NOS kit and an entire football team pushing on one quarter pannel Seriously, she hasn't even gotten to drive it because were making her get her own insurance first.... a little motivation to do the right thing.
