Some of you who have been up to the shop over the last few months have probably seen the build I've been doing for the wifes Saleen, aka, SLOLEEN. I thought people might be interested to see where the project is out now.

So, last night we put the car back on the dyno to try and figure out an ealier MAF related issue we were having the last time when we started tuning it. Well, we are still having that problem, but decided to tune around it for the time being. So far I'm very pleased with the results. We have now pulled a best of 637 RWHP and 588 RWTQ out of this 2v setup running 16 psi and 19*. There could possibly be more with more timing, but I didn't feel like pushing it any farther without 100% race fuel in the tank, (right now its 7 gallons 91 octane 5 gallons 104 unleaded).

So far I'm really happy with the results. The beginning goal was never to really make this much power, but to push the limit on the 2v heads while still passing CA smog bullshit.

Aftercooled Vortech V2 S-Trim, (upgraded to V3 specs)

AED built 5.0L Signature Series aluminum block bottom end

Patriot Stage 3 heads

Hitech Stage 2 blower cams

STOCK intake

Ported STOCK upper plenum

FRPP 70mm TB

FRPP shortie headers

Bassani catted x

Magnaflow catback

I have a snow performance Stage 2 meth kit on the car, but its been giving me fits so I'm not going to bother messing with it until we get it totally dialed on the race fuel.

Here is a scan of the dyno graph;

Once I get all the bugs ironed out it will be interesting to see what it can do with say 20 psi? [burnout]

Wow, that thing looks sic. So why the stock intake? Why not a professional products or other intake setup?

I don't have very many. Here is one from a few years ago when it was Sean04's wife's car.

Well, there are a couple reasons. One would be, why run an aluminum intake that will just get heat soaked from the motor and raise the intake air temps after the air has already passed through the intercooler and before its in the cylinder? Another reason would be, alot of the aftermarket 2v intakes are just junk, such as the Professional Products intake. There is also the smog reason. On top of all that, the stock intake seems to do a pretty good job keeping the torque up without sacraficing too much top end horsepower. [burnout]
