Shot down...They said they can not weld alumn. stock driveshafts from ford! Said it was like putting two magnets together.

Now My question is why not? The driveshaft is clearly welded. Are there different types of machines?

Calling next lead...........

they are in the pittsburgh area, the can make aluminum shafts so they should be able to shorten them if its possible

I had them shorten and rebalance a steel shaft - $110

How long ago did you have this done? What was the turn around time? Did you stay there and wait or did you need to come back? Were you happy with the work done?

concord place is now the pittsburg place and is over an hour from me. They said $120 to do it, but it's seriously FAR away. GAY

I had the place on Teagarden in San Leandro shorten and balance mine. It was an aluminum ford
motorsport driveshaft. I needed it shortened for a T56 conversion and a 26 spline yoke put on it. They did a good job, but it was years ago.

I saw that and couldn't ask someone to do that for me. That is a mother f'n drive. One that I'm just not able to make with nagging wife, work, kids, nagging wife.

I am going to take it to the San leandro place tomorrow and have them 'look' at it as they said. If it isn't contaminated they said they'd do it. If they can't do it I'll see if maybe we can work something out maybe I can give you some $ to deliver it or pick it up.

Anyone heard of Daves Engine Machineing?

as long as there's no oil or dirt on the aluminum, it should be ok. Not much people wanna work on aluminum because its so risky.
