Any one have the 2010 SS camaro specs? 1/4 mile time?

Has the LS3 6.2L motor with 426/420 for the 6 speed manual and 400/410 for the 6 speed auto. Its heavier than the 4th gen weighing in at 3860 for the 6 speed. So far magazines are advertising 1/4 times in the low-mid 13s but the trap speed is there for a 12 sec time so we'll see what people do out at tracks soon. There is a company who added an intake and long tubes with cats and a catback and made 400 rwhp with only those mods.

yea the new camaro has a good motor but it also has a 2ton heavy body. a stock fox coupe with good gearing would probly keep up with that pig tank.

ya and a twin turbo 5.0 is faster than a stock lamborghini also but hey I would still take the lambo . So my point is the newer SS might be heavy and slower than we like them but its a sick ass car and you can't compare it to a fox coupe! Its not always about what is faster!

I agree about its not always about whats faster, if it was I wouldnt own a Mach 1. But everyone always bashes Ford for only have 315 horses in the New stangs, while the Camaro's are 400+, but since the Maro is so much heavier, the stang should give it a good run.... The mustang GT's curb weight is advertised as 3,533, while the Camaro SS is advertised at 3,750!!!!
On another note though, I think the new Camaro & the 2010 stang are both ugly as hell... The Challenger on the other hand is sexy as hell.....

ok get the camaro because its one of those mid life crisis type buys and not because its an ass kicking car.

well at least the Mustang will be around in 2 years. Can't say that the Challenger and Camaro will be around the way things are going.

I checked out the yellow one they had in san leandro. It doesn't look that bulky up front as much as they say it does. It was a v6 model n they were asking lik 35k!! It might have 300hp but it still sounds lik a v6

I still dont get why these new "muscle" cars have so much "fat" on them.
Overpriced garbage IMO.

Safety regulations and trying to build them to a price point. Lightweight, exotic materials carry a hefty price so the save that stuff for the big money cars.

I love for them to compare, cause even though them two cars have more horsepower, the performance is not that impressive. And of course, does not provide your bang for the buck that the Mustang provide. I would love to see a mustang with the same horsepower numbers of it's competitors. What a different battle that would be.

I have read that there will be a special edition of the F-150 coming out next year called the Raptor. It will initially have the 5.4L but the new 6.2L "Boss" engine will be available after introduction. Wishful logic would say that its only a matter of time before it makes it into the Mustang somehow.

With safety regulations that the goverment is putting on all car makers today it doesn't exactly make it easy to produce a light muscle in todays day in age. However with that being said ALL car manufacters are suffering from a huge loss in overall revenue. However im not a huge fan of any of the new muscle cars of today. Yeah the price tag on the new Camaro is big, however a lot of that has to do with the dealer always marking things up some outragoues amount. In a couple years it will be a different story. People today have that " I need to keep up with the Jones" attitude by having the first one on the block. I'd say let them buy um, that way in a year or so they'll trade em in because they can't afford the car and that way an average guy like me can own one. Performance wise the Camaro is set up pretty solid. However for the price tag you can find used 05-07 Z06s for around the same price or even just a few dollars more.
