Thats even with the "premium wheels" option LOL!!!

I realized today that I owe waaaaaaaay too much money on this car!!! Funny thing is, I have never missed a payment, in fact, I always pay extra, & I still owe more than its worth!!!
[Mad]

I just bought at the wrong time which was the height of the market... back when Cobra's were $26-28k & Machs were $20k!!!

well..not sure if it says anything about machs being undervalued from actual market price in the bay area but if u look at an 03 cobra on kbb assuming about 30k miles, the high private party price is a tad bit under 18k. the majority of 03 cobras listed around here are anywhere from 21k to 25k but not quite what theyve been selling at.

didnt someone on here just pay $10k for a mach 1?

03/04 Cobra owners need to wake up, they are NOT worth anything over $18k in this market.... If GT's go down, Mach's go down, then Cobra's go down as well!!!

Lemme know where you can find a clean title 03-04 Cobra with under 60k miles on it for 18k. Better yet, find one with 10k miles under 25k.

I have one that I have been looking up on Carmax. I might as well put the link up.

They will put the one with under 10k up tomorrow. It is a vert also. I don't have the money to transfer nor buy either one any how.

yeah actually i was lookin at a redfire cobra with 56k miles and he was askin 18k! just dont really like that color. thats the least desireable color to me out of all them

The sad thing is, the Carmax listing is suggested retail pricing. This is usually the highest price you will see on Kelly Blue book. I believe the private sale would be in the teens.

Sorry John, but 03/04 Cobra's lose value just like Mach's do... They have always been worth $5-$6k more than mach's which would make them worth $17k-$19k in this market...(private party value of course)

Here is the "Suggested retail value" on KBB, which retail is always the highest...This is for a 30k mile 03 Cobra coupe in "excellent condition"... Thats a far cry from $25k, & private party should be around $2k-$3k less....

You do know that it's basically a salvaged title car, right? It's a buyback...meaning the dealer didn't want any drama, as it had been in the shop MANY times...so the manufacturer bought it back.

I'm sure they depreciate, as does everything. But like I said, you won't find one for cheap unless it's got mega miles or is beat up/salvaged. And as for KBB values...they fall in the same category as 93 Cobras and such...you won't find them for "suggested retail value". [Wink]

That's the classic: "my girlfriend/wife wants me to sell my car" ad. He WAY overprices it so there's no way in hell it will ever sell.

Another thing we need to remember, KBB doesn't determine the actual value of a car. If it did then you could buy a Fox for $800. Another thing to remember, an 03 Cobra was selling in the mid $20K range when they were 3 years old..... these cars are now 6 years old, that value isn't going to hold out forever.

+1 you beat me to saying that car was a salvage title. I'm glad my Cobra is almost paid for. only 1 year left! [Razz]

Looks like new car prices are tanking as well. Why mess around with a 6 year old car when you can get an 09 GT for almost the same price

A Friend of mine just traded in his 04 cobra to Novoto Ford for a 04 ZO6 , they gave him $17900 for the trade in.
PS
Do not buy a black 04 Cobra from Novoto Ford it has been through hell.

I always find it amazing that folks think their car is worth 80%-90% of what they paid for it new– in this case a Mustang that is 6 years old. You lost $5000+ in the first year.

$12000 is doing pretty damn good, not even considering the current financial climate.
