coupe or hatch? i seen coupe's run as fast as 13.5's. with a good driver a pair of slicks and a short belt. but the avg. is high 13's to high 14's..but it gets harder to fined good runing stock cars. since it's been 15 years since they stop making the fox body.

Actually throughout the years the times very. I have a book at home that shows all the years with different combo's (Power windows or manual, 5spd or auto, hatch, coupe, or vert, a/c or no factory air, SD or MA).

I remember reading they had a '87 speed density coupe with no factory air, no power options, with air silencer removed doing a 13.4@101mph.

I got my hatch a 13.3 with an aod, shift kit, 2800 stall convertor and 3.55's in the ass! Not bad for an auto i was surprised but with that said its fairly easy to make em quick if you spend your money wisely...

That was probably Tony DeFeo of Cars Illustrated (the best car magazine ever, period). He bought an '87 (no option, hatchback, 3.08) and ran a best 13.7 right off the showroom floor. With timing, tire pressure, iced intake, etc...he got down to 13.4 on crappy Gatorbacks. It wasn't a one time thing either, it was consistent.

But, that doesn't mean everyone with a stock 5.0 can brag their cars run 13s.

13.3 with a aod and 2800 stall converter? I don't believe you. You need more people...

If you look at the magazines of the day (and I've got a ton of them in my garage), a bone stock 5.0 ran anywhere from 15.0 to 14.5 depending on the year, trim and who tested it.

There will always be a lot of variation due to trims, production tolerances, weather condition, track prep, etc.

For a bone stock 87-93 Mustang on street tires, time should be in the ballpark of 13.9 - 14.9 with a little practice.

There are guys who have gone 12.9X or fast with stock motors and basic bolt-ons (gear, slicks, pullies, exhaust, K*N, etc). My car went 13.0X @ 102.6 in that config.

13.0X @ 102.6 with a 100% stock motor
Full weight 93 LX with no weight reduction other than the front sway bar.

That sounds like a factory freak to me Luke,

my friend with an 89 Hatch & 3.73's with slipping clutch went 15.0 flat @ 95 mph.

Stock fox everything your looking at mid 15s to low 16s and mph to be around the high 80s that is if it's bone stock with street tires

my coupe with manual steering, short belt, 3.73's, spec stage 2 clutch, no back seat, no front swaybar, spare tires up front, on 10 holes with 26x10.5" et streets in the back went 13.01 @ 104mph with a 1.71 60'

it's hardly a 'freak' thing, there's lots of "stock motor" foxbodies that have gone a lot faster than both Luke an I.

My quickest time was a 15.6.. thats a bone stock vert, Just flows a and lil advanced timing... And it was my first time ever going down the strip.. With a little practice ill be in the low 15s to high 14s...

My 87GT would trap the same (same mods) and I am confident that it would have ran the same ETs too. Either one was certainly not any factory freak... Just takes slicks, a few carefully selected boltons, limiter launch, and powershifting. Most people aren't willing to do those things with their cars.
