So i bought this mustang from this dude. Im new to the muscle car thing and all that.... the car says CaliforniaFords.com.. Hence, how i found out about this place... I wanna ask my first question.. Whats the first step to do with a MUSTANG on a very low budget.

Depends on what year stang and what u wanna do. I think for modular motors Most will say gears, exhaust, intake and a tune. For 5.0's id say heads, cam, intake, gears.

like i said im new to this muscle car thing. lol well, i bought the car from this guy in sanjose. There was already a californiafords.com sticker on it.. im guessing the original owner is a member here or something..
anyway, so wen i got this, there's a dent on the quarter panel and one on the bumper.. the bumper has to be fixable or perhaps, REPLACEABLE, as for the quarter panel, i'm not actually sure if its doable or should I take down the whole 1/4 panel and replace the whole thing.. damn, right now, i wish i had a camera. lol but i will post it maybe tomorrow.. someone train me on this muscle car thing. lol

its a 6 (yall would prolly think its lame lol) but i'll leave the motor as it is for now.. im tryna focus on the body.. quarter panel dent and bumper dent. prolly new rotors and calipers.. what you thiink...

oh its a 1999 Mustang.. It does have a GT hood but i think its a BASE coz of the motor.. But maybe the motor got swapped out..

Bro if its a v6 I wouldn't waste ur time or money tryna make it fast. Do cosmetic upgrades (nothing ricey), get a lightweight set of wheels (heavy rims will make ur car slower), and dump it to the ground. Maybe a set of HID headlights and just drive the thing. Save ur money until u find a wrecked 04 cobra and drop that motor in there.

No chrome projector head lamps, big stickers, altezza tail lights, a bunch of chrome trim or a big as spoiler.
If it was mine id swap an 04 cobra front/rear bumper, side skirts and wing on it and have people scared to run up on you. The car doesn't look bad now. Id say a set of deep dish wheels would set u off right and be a good first change. It would just make it look fast which is all u need. My cobra now isn't what most would call "fast" but it looks the part

Well I would make a plan for the car before I dropped much cash into it. The reason I asked You those question's is if You don't have the skill's or friend's with skill's that are willing to help then You should leave the car as is and enjoy it because if You pay for an engine and pay someone to put it in then You will end up with a car that is not worth a third of the money You have thrown at it. This being the case You should find a GT, Cobra, or saleen which will hold it's value much better than a 6 cyl. that You paid big buck's to have converted to a 8 cyl.

See, finaly a dude who didnt buy a stang to prove their tuff. Try asking a few $100 more for it than you paid and go from there. You may take a loss considering most stang sellers flip em like pancakes and you may have been flipped? But then again a V6 isnt much of a stang. If you lose a few hundred oh well, we all did on our first mustangs. Next time you buy a stang come here first. Theres a lot of fools who dont know how to wrench or even wax paint here let alone change oil so opinions may very just know what you can do as a do it yourself guy and nice mustangs can be cheap.

yeah i just really wanted a mustang so i bought it without out knowing anything.. im impulsive like that... i think i can sell it around 3000 dollars.. i think thats the way to go... coz i the reason i bought a stang is i wanna feel the mustang vibe you know.. and if this aint the real stang.. then i'd rather sell it.. i have another stang i got from my dad and i don't know what to do with it.. i think its 1960s something. maybe i'll try to restore that.. but from what people say it'll cost a fortune. i'll take pictures when my new cam arrives via UPS. maybe u guys would know what year it is..

Welcome to the site A GT would give you a lot more options than a V6... but here is what I would do to a V6
- short shifter (if it is a 5 speed)
- lower it
- subframe connectors
- Cobra front brakes
- sway bars
- gears
There aren't a lot of options for more power unless you add NOS or a blower. Your best bet is to work on the handling and braking.. that'll make the car more fun to drive.
