Has anyone ship any sort of vehicle out of state? Wondering how hard is the process? Of course the buyer pays for shipping.

Its not a big hassle. Theres a tow yard in folsom that can handle shipping. Ive drove a few cars to the folsom lot they do a walk around for scratches and crap I was in and out in under an hour.

Just make sure you take pics yourself of the car you are shipping, my law teacher has a 200+ car collection and buys and sells pretty regularly, he always stressed the fact that you need to document any and all damage on the car before shipping.

I shipped my 95 gt from MN here to CA using Dependable Auto Shippers about a month ago.

There's reviews online saying they suck, but I took a chance with them. They were the cheapest I found, only $540. They did an awesome job of inpecting the car and noting any scratches or dings. My car showed up about 2 weeks later in the same condition it was dropped off in.

It was a pretty easy process, I did it all online. Just filled out the quote form, then submitted all the car's info (license plate, vin and color) then paid via credit card. I opted for the "terminal" drop off/pick ups (cheaper) so I just picked a day and drove the car out to the drop off place. They called me when the car showed up 2 weeks later to pick it up.

Very easy process, their customer services was pretty good to me as well, answered all my questions.

i shipped out a car recently to ny from cali. i recommmend you check out transportreviews.com to help you make a decision on which carrier to use.

also before shipping the car make sure you point out all the flaws w/ the car and takes lots of pictures before they drive off of the outside, inside, everything...that way if there is any question about damage that you suspect occured during transport, you'll have some documentation to prove the car was damaged in their hands.

do companys offer open truck shipping? im just curious possibly moving to wisconsin and need to look into all the info pretaining to the move ahead of time.

Yup, open truck/trailer is standard method of shipment. You can request a Closed trailer, but you are gonna pay $$$ for it lol.

Oh, and transportreviews.com is a bunch of crap. Every single review for DAS (who I used) said they sucked, but they were great for me. Customer service was aweseome, shipping was exactly on time, it went really smooth. I think people post fake reviews to lower/bump up/down ratings....
