From what I learned about the fox body is: 89-90ish are good motors.(forged from the factory)93 is not forged. Therefore...it is garbage. Maybe that is why he is laughing. [Roll Eyes]

the only difference was the pistons....

not that big of a deal if you are going to just a bolt on car with no power adder ...well small shot of nitrous doesn't hurt it either.....

but anyways...that car is frickin ugly as it is....

That is an ignorant claim, in my opinion. The block will split down the middle before you will encroach on hurting the hyper pistons in those motors.

There are plenty of examples on turbomustangs.

I would like to dispell this rumor.

please elaborate!

I thought the forged motor was better for a power adder?

The forged piston motors are more forgiving of a bad tune for obvious reasons, but when it comes down to it, on a good tune. The weak link is not the hyper pistons, it is in fact the block.

Check out stock block chronicles over on turbomustangs.

ohh i know the whole 93 motor thing, i just didnt get it maybe he was laughing cause someone did a swap or maybe becuase the motor being 93 w/hypers.. but if i'm not mistaken his cobra has same shortblock minus cam with hyper pistons too.. but maybe were all getting into this alittle to deep over a craigslist car in sandiego. I just think its a cool different car that can hang with the mustang boys an no body would expect it. [Big Grin]

You are in fact, misguided.

Here is the link

http://www.theturboforums.com/stockblock.php

Specifically, check out "BarryD" and "Engineerd" they are deep into the 10s, low 10.30s in fact, on a stock block with HYPEREUTECTIC pistons.

Not a single piston hurt, but the stock block?

SMOKED!!

ya that one shot right over my head. didnt know his name was tony too.. i was refering to a friend on here doing the similar swap..
i was only giving 302oons shit about his swap cause he claims so much money an only swapped out for a 93. but he we all have our reasons for doing what we do to not gonna hate on the aspect. who knows he could be a cool dude but lives to far for me to hang out with him [Big Grin]

hahah f8ke still swinging off my nuts how cute. anytime the name Tony comes up hes gotta give his 2 cents (that he had to borrow from his mommy and daddy) <-haha. i thought we went over this shit.....you are unemployed, live at home with both ur parents. seriously kid, you really just need to forget about me hahaha. i dont claim that 93s are dope engines hahahah. i had a 87 motor with speed density and it was swapped with a 93 motor/ecu/maf. i dont spend all my money on stupid shit like a mustang that sits in my garage. i have a life and bills that are more important to me. im sorry i cant sit at home and not work for a living and build a mustang with my parents money. get off my nuts, seriously....

Sorry but the block will live to nearly 600HP,hyper pistons will give out way lower than that.Ive had them fail on N/A motors at only 350HP.And you can forget about any power adders,or actually you can put a power adder on but those hypers wont last long,at least not from my experience and from what ive seen personally.

You had something else wrong my man.

I personally went 11.30s all day long with a hyper shortblock on the bottle.

There are tons of block failures before hyper pistons. Check out stock block chronicles over on turbomustangs.com

You can also check out my photobucket album of a stock block failure at 606rwhp with hyper pistons straight from the factory.

John91coupe, can also chime in. I know because I bought his old longblock after the block failure and used the TEA TFS heads off of it.

Like I said, you had something else going on from the gate.

Peace.
