Here are a couple of good articles from notable sources that support my contention that current oil prices are way out of line with supply and demand. Here's some good news in sea of stupidity and noise.

Ahhh I say you are right and that OIL prices will go down. Not based on this article or any other b.s. Just based on the fact that I live for the future, not for today.

The tech stocks, the housing bubble, the gas shortages of the 70's, everything works itself out.

People don't put up with abnormalities for long.

fuck thats like saying...well there will be a huge earthquake (the big one), might be now might be in 35 years. To me that doesn't mean shit.

I want facts and real numbers worked out. We aren't told shit and no matter how much we cut back on our gas consumption we still need it and will still use it and still pay for it. If it turned to $7 a gallon tomorrow I bet rush hour traffic would be just as busy as ever. People need to get to work, feed their families etc.

The best we can do is cut back for ourself individually,...other than that we have no control over this shit.

hate to say it

i hope your right but the oil companies have complete control. The prices of oil will go down when they want it to. i bet gas prices will go down right before election month. It'll get up to 5.50 a gallon and then before Nov it'll go down to 4.50

That's the main problem. The current price of oil has little to do with what you or I do or don't do. The weak dollar and speculators have driven up the price far beyond the equilibrium price determined by supply and demand.

Man I hope your right. The thing that really pisses me off is the fact that they claim we need to pay for the new bridge so we pay more. When the old bridges were built there was a bond to pay off, after that they were supposed to be free to pass, well that did'nt happen. Then they tell us they want us to ride share to commute so we do that and they complain their not making enough money so they charge us even more. We get screwed every time we turn around.
Where will the tolls stop at $10.00- $15.00 when will it be enough, if everyone took BART or commuted with someone else and no one had to pay a toll they would just find another way to squeeze another dollar out of us.

True. Oil prices have fallen a little over 35% from their peaks while gas has only fallen around 25% from the peak, depending mainly on where you live. The primary reason for this was the massive shutdown of refining capacity in the Gulf from the two hurricanes. Once we are back to full capacity, pump prices will fall a bit faster. That should occur within the next 2-4 weeks.
