I can't believe this shit. Okay I have major cronick back pain from some car accidents in the past. Been through two roll overs, two t-bones and a massive rearend. I have a spinal cord shaped like a sperpent. Every day since I've been in high school I've lived with this shit. Some days its not as bad as others and other days I can't get out of bed. I've noticed the older I get the harder things are getting. I've tried so many different remedies and nothing works. On the days I can't barley move the only thing that gets me out the door is two Vicodin's. My doctor has basically refused to prescribe this to me, basically saying she doesn't believe the sevarity of the pain. I'm a young 31,...look like I'm 23-25 so I'm guessing she thinks I'm just some ass fuck lookin for a high. If she'd read my past records and take an xray of me she'd see this is no bullshit....she wont even clear me for an xray [Frown] HELLA PISSED!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I've look all over the web for vicodin but of course everyhone is a crook. I just want to play with me kids and work on my fuckin cars. but NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO any advice?

Ciropractor...I've done that. Went for 4 months every Wendesday. Actually made my back hurt more and more as the weeks went on to the point where I seriously couldn't move and would call in sick to work because I couldn't stand up striat. Now you know why I never work out with you guys. I either need surgery or some pain meds. I think new doctor is in order. I don't have Kaiser...my doctor owners her business. So her boss is her [Frown] Also we are going to fight this next weekend right?

On another note. My fuckin wife calls the doctor (same person) and gets a prescription OVER THE PHONE for 3 months supply of vicodin because she says her feet hurt. 60 pills per month...wife fuckin HIDES them because she thinks I'm BS'n my back pain. I never talk about it never complain about and never address it because I don't want surgery! So she thinks I'm full of shit. In the heat I feel a little better but when its cold out,...shit

Be careful with that Vicodin.

I was ass ended pretty good this year and the ONLY thing that took my pain away was the ONE Vicodin that I took.

I toughed it out and with therapy am OK. I still have my days and have had to modify my life, but nothing compares to being hooked on those.

I have had two past friends, now who knows, end up in rehab from that shit.

It snowballs.

Do you need surgery?

Have you been to back/spine specialist like Webster Ortho in Oakland or anything?

Maybe your wife told your doctor not to prescribe it to you because she thinks your hooked on it. Either way, good luck....Can you have surgery?

I won't post up again, but I am telling you guys.

Drug addiction and ballin it on the side is a one way road.

Don't think that because it is not a street drug like crank, cocaine, heroin etc that you cant get hooked or that it is "ok".

I agree with Dan, my little brother was on that for a bit. If you need meds to do your daily tasks then you have a problem. Up the game, see a specialists or go over your doctors head. Every hospital or doc office has a head doc. Or a appeals process. But seriously man, dont use meds to cope. SOme bad shizzle can come by that way.

Seriously the last time I've even been given a prescription was over a year ago and it was for a weeks supply. I have no intention on taking it on days other than when I'm emobolized. We just moved and I'm doing home repairs...I tried playing with my son last night and cumpled to the floor. That is the shit I'm talking about.

I've seen first hand what addiction does. I have a biological father that is a walking vegetable that I will have nothing to do with because of his lack of self control. Yet my thread I'm sure to many would come accross sounding feeendish your right. I'm not asking for handouts from anyone here please don't get me wrong...just looking for some advice.

The last specailist I saw was when I was 18 years old. I was told at that time by the age of 40 I'd be in need of surgery, but that if I waited until then it would be more complicated and the healing process harder. I'm terrified to even consider going that route and maybe THAT is what I need to get past.

Again not feending for DRUGS but want some kind of relief on the days that are unbearable. Like I said,...its there everyday, not to the point of bothering me but its there. You learn to live with it, but stupid me has waited a long time to consider surgery. I've never told my wife about the potential of needing surgery because her crazy ass would do everything in her power to drag me in there and just do it.

Regards,
Having a pussy day [Frown] should have just done it when I was first told about it. 31 is fuckin young still but when its at its worst I can't imagine what I'll be going through when I "AM" older.

Thanks for the advice guys...!

My wife was in a car accident a few years back & it tore up her back pretty good. Years of therapy, chiropractors, Dr visits, etc. They wanted to do surgery....but our opinion was that she was too young & something else *could* be done.

We ended up contacting Dr. Russo. 6 weeks later she was done!

I'm not sure what your injury's are, but this guy is amazing when it comes to the back.

Ask for a referal, or another Dr. Push hard for an MRI, and also for epideral shots. I had severe back pain, and siatic nerve damage, and went through a couple years of meds, chiropractor, tracktion, shock treatments, nerve studys, X rays, MRI, epiderals, and finally surgery... Just keep complaining, and push for what you want. Vicodin will only mask your problem, so push for a fix, and not meds! I am still not 100%, but the day to day pain is much less, and I can enjoy life now, istead of laying around bitching about how much it hurts. Make them do what they are paid to do! PM me if you need any details on the road to what I went through... I would be more that happy to pass on what worked, what didn't and what helped. Back pain is no joke!

Best of luck man!

Some doctors get that "vibe" that your abusing pain meds and can't be swayed otherwise, I see it all the time where I work.

First off sounds like you need a new doc, secondly, if you're that bad off, you really should look into the surgery, my mom waited until she could barely function to have neck surgery, and has felt so much relief ever since, she regrets waiting... Pain meds aren't a cure, and just damage you more in the long run... but get a new doc to get some for now [Smile]

Let me start by saying I'm not accusing you of being addicted but your wife and a MD think you have a problem , maybe you should take a closer look at this. I know people that are addicted to pain killers and can get ugly. The best thing to do is go to a new Doctor . Tell him your history , he will do tests (MRI,x-rays). Let him be the judge , its his job to help you get better not just cover up the problem w/ pain killers. Your young bro , take care of yourself or you will be a 40year old that can barley get around and will do anything to get relief from the pain.

Pain meds just cover up the pain and when your off them/addicted can make you feel like your in pain.
I would look into doing something else. If you don't do it now you won't be walking much later on in life.
Since it is 2 of them that makes you feel better that means your building an immunity to them so if you keep taking them you'll just have to take more and more and then you'll get some surgery or something and you'll be hella older so it will take you a lot longer to recover.

I dunno, I have a couple big bottles of them and I rarely take them [Confused] I only take them when I'm actually in pain...so don't just assume everybody will become a crackhead (vic head?) on them

I'm seeing a new doctor this thursday, I want to talk to him about an MRI but aslo some kind of physical therapy before any kind of med request. Last week was a pain in the ass (back). Our move caught up to me and this weekend wasn't any better running new phone lines under the house and fixing leak after leak at the new houe. Backyard sprinkler had to be dug our and replaced, washing machine still has small leak and kitchen sink drain was also leaking....with the heat I'm just spent. Thanks for the advice [dance] .

Good call on seeing a new Doc.

I was not insinuating that you are a dope fiend.

I have a genuine care for good mustang folks and was only concerned.

It seems like you are taking the appropriate steps and I wish you the best.

I know back pain can be a killer!!
