Hello all, I went by the CHP academy in Sacramento the other day checking out the new cop cars. You now need to be looking out for the CHP Dodge Charger cop cars. I saw one in white, which is for commercial vehicle enforcement, and I saw about 15 black, silver and dark charcol unmarked cars too. I'm sure soon there will be the regular black and white Chargers coming soon.
Weirdly enough, there were a couple of Hondas and a few other cars I wasn't sure of, Compact to mid sized cars.
For those who want a look, take I-5 north to I-80 west. get off at Reed exit. At the stop light go strait into the business park and go in back to your left. and drive along the fence line.

Have you been to Folsom? There are a couple black and white ones there. Maybe in a couple of years they would make good x chp rides, a Hemi without leather and steel wheels. Too bad they don't come in a manual tranny...

To my understanding they are testing the Charger out in a pilot program, not going statewide. Chargers are expensive compared to the CVPI, but a bit faster. Remember the CHP Volvo's around 2001-2002? They even tested Toyota Corolla's in the 80's.

Fremont/Newark has a champained colored charger cop with all black wheels and black spot lights on each side tinted windows...look fuckin badass. More scared of the car than the cop inside it LOL

I build about 6 chargers a month now and even a few magnums..the agencys are starting to use them more and the "police package" version of it from dodge is kinda cool it has the shifter on the column to make room for all the electronics in the console area and it comes lowered and has 18" black steel wheels. Shit I installed spot lights last week on the new charger for a agency and that shit was hard not to mention how tight the cage fit.. Surprisingly allot of agencys are using these for undercover or detective work. badass ride imo

Ford has stopped production of the Police Interceptor car... once the rotations go through on most departments on there vehicles.. you will see more and more chargers.
