might be a good idea to leave your bedroom doors unlocked so they dont have to break them down. he should be thankful nobody was hurt

Fuckin' assholes!!
I'll bet some anonymous asshole falsely tipped the authorities probably because someone just didn't like that kid.
Shit like that can happen. And the arrest record still remains?
Mistakes like that can really affect your future like employment and your life.

What? You must be kidding? People like you let things get messed up for the rest of us. Leave doors unlocked incase the police raid your house when youre innocent? Ill be the first to say youre retarded. Police enforce the law THEY ARE NOT THE LAW.

This may not be the most popular reply, but if the Police have to brake a couple doors of Innocent people to find murderers so be it. They have an important job that is easy to criticize , give them a brake they put there lives on the line everyday.

You don't think they just showed up to some random house and started to braking down doors do you?
They got a warrant from a Judge that had all the facts. They ended up wrong this time but most of the time there right. If the charges where dropped the kid will not have a murder on his record.

Cop bashers SUCK! They should have killed the whole innocent family! Their job is so hard they have the right to do anything. This innocent complaining scumbag whos out the repair cost should be thanking the cops! The people who are supporting the county not paying the damages should get off their soap box and give this guy the $800. This has nothing to do with liking or disliking police its the mistake that lead to the damage. Too many comunist on this bord nowadays is more like it.

I guess if I wanted $800 to fix my doors after the cops kick 'em down to look for evidence on my innocent son I am a "Cop Basher".
The home owner even said "If they don't pay the $800, I'm not going to be broke," Saephan said. "(But) after they find all the facts and the truth comes out, they still refused to pay for the damage. That really makes me upset."
It's not like he is suing for a million dollars (like most people do in the U.S). He is merely asking for his doors to be repaired.
Alameda has NO claims in the last two years based on this article. He put in for the $800 claim and it got DENIED.
Where are the checks and balances for this kind of shit? The cops made a mistake and should pay for the damages.

Do you have any idea how many doors are broken down on raids made by swatt.... Im sure they bust down alot of doors every day of people who are probebly inocent but are harvesting a fugitave and what not. So is the government supposed to pay all of those people the damages as well.... man if so we better start a new door repair budget.... Cops dont just go busting down doors for no dam good reason, like was said earlier they go through a whole process so you could blame the judgicial system for issueing the warrent and make them pay and who ever else was involved, then you get into a whole cluster fuck of whos fault it is and by then the man hours wasted on this pitty thing are just stupid. His record will not be affected because if he is inocent he will be cleared.

Youre dismal attempt at misleading the facts here are well... dismal. No fugitive was in the house it was a complete mistake by the police. Are you gonna pay the $800 for this guys repairs? If not please tell us why he should have to pay for the repairs and not you. I understand youre not paying for it so its easy to sit on your soap box and say its ok for the home owner to pay when its not you paying. Hell, with half the reasoning on here id say theres no need for auto insurance cant we just say sorry, you pay for the damages. Ive heard the dumbest comments Ive ever heard out of peoples mouths/fingers on Cafords.

that shit ain't right just running around justin in innocent peoples doors while they are eating dinner and praying. Shit they should have just went dumb on they as hyphy sh@t you know what I mean. They should get 5 million for that. All the cops should loose there jobs over that poor inocent Christian people now they can't start the foster home they've always wanted to start. Its amazing how many dumb people are on this board the more I read the worse it gets basically if they broke the door they should fix it if they don't then they don't

I guess you missed the part where they arrested 2 people by mistake and arrested 3 actual suspects for the murder. So maybe you need to pay attention? or back to my origional claim, youre retarded. People (including Police) should be held accountable for their actions. The police made the mistake. They should pay for the doors (should be no argument).
I am wondering if the victim can simply make the claims via his homeowner's insurance. Letting the insurance company deal with the police would work better in this case (you would think - under vandalism)).

dave, if spelling was that important i would use spell check or look the words up, mabey i could proof read before i post, sorry, you got the point. someone with your apparent self imposed IQ should try and act a little more mature rather then stoop to the name calling and demeanimg remarks. now back to the point, it doesnt matter if you are guilty or not, he was a suspect at that time, cooperate by opening the doors or they get broke. the cops were doing their jobs and this guy didnt want to cooprate. everybody makes choices in life, this one is going to cost him 800 bucks end of story. NOT, im sure there are about 100 or so lawyers who want to take this case on and cost the rest of us tax paying, law abiding people court cost. we live in america were everybody has the right to express their opinion even as agressivly as they want to and anonymously from behind their computor screen.

the cops FUCKED UP they broke down doors and tore up shit, i agree that this happens but they should have to pay cause it was there mistake. if i kicked someones door down and said sorry wrong house you dont think i woulnt have to pay. its double standards and its bullshit.

the cops are exempt if its in the line of duty. if you or i do this then yes we are braking the law. i dont think they were abusing their power. just my opinion

I see now, you never read the article! I didnt correct your spelling either lol I defined the words you used. There is no cooperating when your house is raided, the cops did what they needed to do to find a murder suspect and that was kick ass and ask for names later I totaly agree with that in every way. You dont wait for keys to doors at a murder suspects house or wait for cooperation thats how people get hurt. The POINT is they made a mistake and now a normal average tax paying innocent citizen has to pay? Thats not right at all. Theres no way to rationalize how an innocent citizen should pay for damages caused by ANYONE including the police, the president, Kat Williams, Jay Leno etc. Nobody should be unliable for mistakes causing damages. I think most people here are rationalizing the situation as there was a reason the cops were there and the guy got lucky not getting locked up. Thats not the case check into how many people were released from prison because DNA set them free police make mistakes. These people were INNOCENT and were victomized by the police.

I agree, there should be an insurance policy in place for this.
I'm very pro police and respect the job they have to do every day they wake up

I'm on the fence with this one........... I followed the story close when it came out. Somehow they went after these kids, for some reason. How and why I don't know. A tip that didn't pan out? Did these guys know the killer? Were they acquaintances? All of these are unknown to me. The question I have is what kind of family living situation locks the doors inside of your house? That is straight ghetto to me. Some shady shit had to be going on around there. I also love the Asian profiling comments that came out right after the murder...LOL. Who the fuck else are they going to look at??? Witnesses said Asian, not white, not black. I think the cops were very aggressive in this case, because of another case a few years back where there could have been botched evidence. I personally don't mind the aggressive police. I feel safer in my community because of it. I had a 5150 neighbor one time, and 7 cars were at the house in a minute. Thanks APD

If you read the article you would understand they had the wrong guy. I know its hard for you guys to believe they made a mistake even when its included in the article. As for believing cops dont take money open your eyes.
This ones for you Tinner
vic·tim·ize [ víktə mz ] (past and past participle vic·tim·ized, present participle vic·tim·iz·ing, 3rd person present singular vic·tim·iz·es)
transitive verb
Definition:
1. treat unfairly: to single somebody out unfairly for punishment or ill treatment
Id call somebody kicking my doors in, unfair treatment. None of you have made any supporting statements or facts of why the PD shouldnt pay for their mistakes. The search warrant was INCORRECT.

Why are you turning a simple mistake into loving or hating cops? Never was the issue here about who likes police it was about a mistake being made and holding the people who made the mistake liable. They didnt want the money the got false info and acted on it. I just dont understand why youre so overbearing on liking and disliking LEO's. Thats not the issue at all. Issue was the damage cause to the inncoent household of people.
P.S. Im telling em don! How much do you charge to clean cars? Im in the market for a good car washer and heard you scrub cars with the best of em. LMK
