Things i dont like about the iphone

1. hard to text or type
2. cant record videos
3. VERY easy to break (feels flimsy)
4. speakerphone/music player not loud enough
5. Can't set mp3s as ringtones (not defaulted, havent researched on conversions yet)

I have both the xv6700 and the iphone too. Before I say anything else, they are two totally different phones. Sure they have email and internet capabilities but the xv6700 is purely targeted at the business sector. It has a full keyboard, push email, and most importantly EVDO (if you are on the verizon network) which is a godsend. The iphone is a multi media device that has internet and email capabilities which is designed for the masses.

Out of the box, I have to give the xv6700 the edge. BUT once you jailbreak the iphone it becomes a totally different beast. I would compare it to slapping a s-trim to a stock mustang. A non jailbroken iphone uses about 10% of its capapbiltiies...the other 90% comes from jailbreaking it. There is so much third party support that it turns the iphone into a device that goes leaps and bounds over everything.

Among the applications that are available are nes emulators, full customization of your entire phone, instant msging, and then some.

In response to your points, I can type on the iphone very well. It does take some time tho, but I am now just as efficient on the iphone as I am on the xv6700. Their is a third party app that allows you to take videos but it is still in the beta stage. I actually feel the iphone is not flimsy at all. It is certainly not a brick like the ppc 6700 but the iphone is very well built as is common with most mac products. Speaker phone volume is even on both devices and there is workaround that allows you to increase the iphone output speaker volume. Setting mp3 as ringtones is very easy with itunes and a simple file conversion.

LoL. The porn industry supports the iphone. I think they dubbed it the iporno. I had a friend mess with my phone and he "accidentally" played a porno before class. He had a face of shock for a whole second before he continued to watch the whole thing. In his defense we where in anatomy.

Recently my company gave me an IPHONE, and all I have to say is that the IPhone is 5 years ahead of its time. And jailbreak is the way to go. As far as typing goes, you cant type on a Iphone at 2:53am come on now AL STOCK lol. heres the link to how you set your MP3 as ringtones.

yeah in a year or so phones will be way more advanced than whats out now. i will keep my blackberry for about 2-4 years. the phone i had before this one was a nokia and it was hella out of date lol i had it like for 5 years.
My blackberry meets all my needs.

Unless I can get the phone as a company expense or gift I don't ever upgrade unless I have too. Before these two phones I had an ancient Motorola v60 and I would still have it if I didn't really piss of a girl I was involved with at the time because she chucked it out the window while we where on the freeway. I had it coming though. [burnout]

i found a program that convert avis for free. It works i got a bunch of videos on my Blackberry now BUT i think my blackberry doesn't like a couple of them cause 2 minutes into a couple of them my blackberry's media program has an error.

Blackberry's media program sucks! I just load songs videos and ringtones to my memory card instead.

Do you have the blackberry desktop 4.3? i heard it will convert videos for you when you load them onto your blackberry. Been trying to download it but my computer is messed up and it won't run the program [Frown]

I have this piece of crap through T mobile. Not sure as to which phone I will be upgrading when the plan ends in August. I was thinking about the Black Berry Curve because it works well with Microsoft Outlook which I use at work.
