Go with the G-force helmet, its light, comfortable and has a really good price.

yeah ive been looking into those cause their prices are the best...but was concerned with the quality but im sure their approved so theyve passed saftey test. $200.00 does sound better then $400.00

damn man, you can't put a price on your head. buy the best. in the event you do have to use it, you'll be happier.
anyway, the more expensive ones are lighter, have better ventilation and most have removable(washable) liners.
i rock the simpson darth vader helmet. best $450 i ever spent as far as safety equipment goes.
if you only race once a year in a fairly tame car(11 seconds or less and not a road race car) cheaper might be better for you.

After owning both the Simpson Speedway shark ($739) and the G-force (was $275), there is suprisingly little difference in quality and weight between the two. Some costly helmets are in fact a little better than the G-force one but in many cases you are paying for the brand name. They all go through the same certifications.

Go to wine country motorsports at Infineon and try a few helmets on. They have a good selection and can help you find the right size for your head. If you're going road racing definitely get an SA rated helmet.
